Realmguard – Patch Notes
This update brings german Translation and focuses heavily on improving UI clarity, preventing softlocks, expanding the highscore system, and further refining Realmguard's balancing.
UI & Quality of Life
- Expanded HUD tooltip hover areas to cover the entire row instead of only the icon, making tooltips easier to discover.
- Added icons to tooltips for better readability and clarity.
- Added a savegame overview when hovering over Continue in the Main Menu. It now displays information such as the current Realm and Wave.
- Added a statistics overview to the Pause Menu.
- Added a total Highscore value to the statistics overview.
- Added German Language.
- Added a Language button to the Main Menu.
- Updated the cost preview in the Free Tile Menu.
- Spell costs now display correctly when using the Spellmaster upgrade, which reduces the cost of the first spell each turn to 0.
- Changed the Z-Order of the Realm Selection menu to prevent game elements from appearing or being clickable underneath it.
- Input is now switched to UI Only while the Realm Selection menu is fading in.
- The Realm Selection menu is now recreated inside the Core HUD instead of being toggled on and off. This helps prevent cases where players could interact with UI elements underneath the menu or accidentally close the Realm Selection screen and become softlocked.
Highscore & Statistics
- Expanded the internal statistics system to collect all relevant highscore information inside the Player Blueprint.
- Current Realm statistics are now added to the saved run statistics on Game Over.
- Run statistics are now stored in the Highscore save file and displayed in the statistics overview.
- Added a combined Total Highscore value.
Gameplay & Balance
- Increased loot choices from 2 to 3.
- Players now have a higher chance of receiving upgrades for weapons they have already unlocked, while reducing the chance of receiving upgrades for locked weapons.
- Increased the drop chance of Weapon Damage upgrades from 5 to 15.
- Adjusted several upgrade and loot drop chances across the game.
- Spells now become more expensive when repeatedly used during the same turn. Each additional spell costs +1 Essence. Spell cost resets to 1 Essence after each wave.
- Graphics quality now defaults to Ultra. Lower presets significantly reduced visual quality while providing only minor performance improvements.
- Reduced camera shake when attacking with Hammers to make repeated hits less visually overwhelming.
Bug Fixes
- Fixed an issue that prevented players from entering Realm 4 and later Realms.
- Fixed an issue where the Wave Survived text could overlap the Start Wave button and temporarily block player input. The text is now non-hit-testable.
- Clamped the Relic counter between 0 and 999 to prevent negative values caused by Starter Relic calculations.
Stability & Testing
- I will carefully watch the Community Hub and social media to be able to react quickly to any bugs or translation errors that might occur with this patch! Hope you enjoy the changes! :)
