The first external Steam Playtest for Recursion: Alignment is now open to everyone.
Run an AI research company: hire researchers, secure data and compute, train models, decide what to release, and respond to an industry that rarely waits for you to be ready.
Run an AI lab. Ship models. Survive what they learn to fake.
For this test, we especially want to learn:
• Whether a new player can understand what to do without additional instructions
• Whether the causes and consequences of data, hiring, training, and release decisions remain readable
• Which screens, controls, or translations are confusing
• Where the game becomes interesting or starts to drag
• Whether saving and loading causes any problems
About 20–30 minutes is enough for a first session, though you are welcome to continue longer.
How to participate:
1. Click the Playtest access request button on this page.
2. Access requests are approved automatically, so you can join immediately.
3. Install the Playtest from your Steam Library.
4. After playing, use the in-game Send Feedback button.
The current build supports English, Korean, Japanese, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese.
This is still a work-in-progress build. Balance, text, UI, and save data may change. Short reactions are useful too—especially moments when you did not know what to do, or when a decision felt genuinely interesting.
Thank you for helping us test the game.
