We've received feedback today that, when logging in via Steam, some users accidentally used a third-party account's email to create a new HoYoverse account and link it to Steam, resulting in their inability to log in to their original game account or unlink it on their own.
If you have encountered this issue, you can resolve it using the following method: 1. Go to: https://cs.hoyoverse.com/new-csc-new-os-account-retrieve-fe/index.html?channel_id=212&token=12b45097-ba0f-4854-a278-226f81c5037e#/ 2. In the HoYoverse Account Issues Application form, select "I need to unlink my (one/several) third-party account(s)," then select Steam as the third-party platform and enter the corresponding Steam account name (optional). 3. Enter the email address we can use to contact you in the "New Email Address" field. 4. In the "Please enter your game account UID" field, enter the UID associated with the incorrectly linked HoYoverse account (i.e., the UID displayed in the bottom-right corner of the game after logging in to the incorrectly linked account via Steam). 5. If your appeal is approved, launch the game again via Steam. On the "Link HoYoverse Account" page, use the QR code login method to link your original third-party account. When scanning the QR code on a mobile device, tap "More Login Options" and log in to your HoYoverse account via third-party login.
Note: Logging in by directly entering your username/email may result in linking the HoYoverse account that was accidentally created during the linking process again.
