5,000 Wishlists and Tons of Feedback. An Updated Demo Is Coming!

Greetings, undead fans!

Just 10 days after Nocthra was announced and the demo was released, nearly 5,000 players added the game to their wishlists — far beyond our expectations. Thank you so much for your support!

Hundreds of players have already tried the demo and shared their feedback. After analyzing it, we decided to significantly rethink several of the game’s systems while the project is still in its early stages.

The main issues we want to address:

  • Battles can feel too chaotic.

  • Not enough unit variety and unclear counters.

  • Low replayability.

Here are some of the changes we’re already working on:

  • Units variety. Each side will have 9 unit types, including three ranged units. Before starting a run, you’ll choose your initial pool of minions, with new ones becoming available as you progress through the acts.

  • A clearer counter system. A unit’s attack type and nature will determine its strengths and weaknesses, making it much easier to understand which minions are best suited to counter specific enemies.

  • A new Sigil system. Most Sigils will now strengthen your minions and visually transform them. The leveling system will be removed, and Sigils will be awarded after waves instead of interrupting combat. We’re also adding another progression system for strengthening your army and the Necromancer.

  • Battle locations. They will become more compact and each will feature its own modifiers affecting gameplay, visuals, and bosses. You’ll also be able to choose your route between locations.

  • Playing as the other side. We’re also considering a game mode where you’ll be able to defend yourself against hordes of undead while playing as the opposing faction.

There are still plenty of experiments and tests ahead, but development is already in full swing. Thank you all for your support and feedback!

Add Nocthra to your wishlist and keep an eye out for the updated demo coming soon. It will significantly reshape the game, with a much stronger focus on tactics and replayability.
