Hi everyone!
It's been a while since Eye Jam II ended, but we haven't forgotten where it all started. Winning Community 1st place and seeing how much you enjoyed the prototype made us want to keep working on it and turn it into a full game.
And now, we're really happy to announce that Depths' Tale is officially coming to Steam with its 1.0 release! 🎉
Over the past few months, we've been working on new content, polishing the original game and adding a bunch of things we didn't have time to include during the Jam.
Brand-new minigames: We've introduced entirely new gameplay challenges to expand the variety and keep the experience fresh, finally reaching our original vision for the game. While a sneak peek is shown below, we've decided to keep a couple of them secret to avoid spoilers: we truly believe they're best discovered and experienced first-hand as you play!
Reworked and polished mechanics: Based on community feedback from the jam, we fine-tuned some controls, timings and animations of the original minigames, so they feel sharper and more satisfying to play.
Visual overhaul: We enhanced the game's overall look, refining the artistic direction and upgrading the technical side with new shaders, lighting, polished VFX and tuned post-processing to give every scene much more depth.
Narrative intro and choices: Depths' Tale now features a proper story introduction with dialogues and player choices, setting the mood and immersing the player in the journey ahead right from the start.
Upgraded soundscape and music: We overhauled the audio experience with new original tracks, remastered jam music and punchier SFX throughout the entire game that create a much more absorbing atmosphere.
Even though the game is completely free, wishlists are crucial for indie developers. If you'd like to support us, the best thing you can do right now is wishlist the game on Steam. It ensures you'll get notified the exact moment it launches on Steam, and it helps the algorithm recommend the game to more players across the platform. The original Jam build will still be available here if you want to play it again or see how the game started, but we can't wait for you to see what we've been working on for 1.0.Thank you so much for supporting us from day one!— Ardora Collective
