Vealo 1.1: Steam Workshop, Radio and Video

Today marks exactly one month since Vealo was released. In just 30 days, a simple app that hid desktop icons and had a handful of looks has grown into a full launcher with everything you need for a beautiful, clean desktop. And this is only the beginning, there is a lot more to come.

Vealo became what it is thanks to your support. I have read every email with bugs and ideas, every comment under the YouTube videos and every review. Thank you so much.

Let's talk about what is waiting for you in patch 1.1. It is a big one, aimed at making Vealo better and bringing its community together.

1. Steam Workshop. Every Vealo owner can now publish their desktop look. How it works: set up your desktop, create a setup from it in the "Workshop" section and publish it to Steam. Anyone who opens the app can download your setup and use it as is or tweak it to their taste. A setup stores only the look settings, never your personal data. Key points:

Any user can download a setup.
A setup cannot carry a virus: the file holds only look settings and a picture.
You can publish a setup with any wallpaper, image or video.
Wallpapers adapt to your resolution automatically, whatever resolution the setup was made at. So feel free to put 4K wallpapers on a 1080p monitor, the quality will be the best possible.
For the community's convenience, please pick the right category when publishing to Steam.
2. Radio. Besides ambient sounds, you can now play radio in the background in different styles: Lo-fi, Ambient, Piano, Classical, Jazz. This is the starting list, more styles will be added over time.
3. The image viewer now plays video. Various formats, convenient controls and the option to set a clip as your desktop wallpaper.
4. Design. The action icons across the app have been fully replaced. Actions now look cleaner and clearer.
6. Better performance when the desktop is heavily loaded with widgets.
7. A large number of small internal fixes.
