Irish Sport Manager 0.31.0: now on Mac
Mac
- Irish Sport Manager runs on Mac from this update. The demo and the full game both. Apple silicon and Intel, macOS 10.15 or later, signed and notarised, and Steam installs the right one.
- It is the same game, the same world, the same saves. A career started on one is not tied to it.
- It is also new. If something looks wrong on a Mac, the crash reporting is on and the report says where. Say what you saw on the discussion board as well, since a thing that looks wrong is not a crash.
Selection
- The six lines now want different players. A corner-back is judged as a stopper, a half-back as the one who launches the attack, the number eleven as the worker, the men on the edge of the square as finishers. Before this the two back lines were graded through one formula and the two forward lines through another, so a corner-back and a wing half-back were the same footballer to the game.
- The auto-pick and the other counties rank by the same measure the match uses, so a side that looks right on the board plays right on the field.
- The rating scale did not move. A flat twelve is a twelve in every line. What changed is who climbs it.
Scouting
- A fifth scouting focus, Beyond the county, sends the week over the county bounds into the province's clubs, best man first. It costs half the attention for the travelling, and it never gets past an assessment, since nobody in the next county vouches for a player to a selector who cannot pick them.
- The watchlist reaches as far, and stops at the same ceiling. The file keeps: it is open on the day the job changes.
- The search box now reaches every player in your code and shows exactly what the selectors know. A stranger comes back as a name and a county. A watched player brings a line and a club. The figures wait on a complete file.
Match day
- While the ball is in play the selection column steps aside and the field takes the screen. It comes back at any stoppage, which is when the jerseys are wanted: a hold, a break, an injury, a dismissal, the whistle.
- The pitch is held to a widescreen window sized to your monitor, so the commentary stays on screen under it.
- Reshaping after a red card works: arm a jersey and the open position is a button. The player moves into it and the gap moves to where they stood.
- A player in the sin bin or sent off leaves the field. The dot goes, the ball never goes to them, and the sweeper's ring never draws round an empty eleven. A side a man down now looks a man down.
- The bench can no longer fill a binned player's berth. A player in the sin bin is one of the fifteen while the ten minutes are served, so the position is held open until the return.
- A player coming back from the sin bin takes their own berth, or the hole the reshape moved it to, and the play by play says so. Before this the return could overwrite whoever now stood in the way, and a player vanished from the field without a line.
- A sacked bainisteoir with a cup no longer reads that the board is pleased with the year on the same row as the sacking. The door comes first and says what it cost.
- The injury banner in the women's codes printed a raw token where the word should have been. It reads properly now.
- The bench caption lost a stray comma.
Crashes fixed
- Playing a club or under-20 match to the whistle with nine fit players closed the game. The smallest parish in a generated world has thirteen, and two injuries were all it took. A short side now keeps fifteen berths with the holes where the players are not, and plays short-handed the way it plays a dismissal.
- A career with New York, Warwickshire or Lancashire ended about a month in. Fixed in 0.30.2 and carried here.
- Crash reports now say which file and which line, so the next one is found the same day.
Note
- The selection and match changes apply to a save already in progress.
- The same seed generates a different world than 0.30. Saved careers are unaffected. Shared seeds only match between people on the same version.
The demo is updated to the same build, on both platforms.
