Have you started building your airfield yet? There’s still time to join Round 2 of our RAF Airfield Map Jam!
Your challenge is to recreate a real RAF airfield in the United Kingdom that was operational during World War II using the Ground of Aces map editor.
Choose the airfield you want to recreate and make it your own. Historical accuracy is welcome, but don’t forget about gameplay: your map should also make for an interesting Ground of Aces experience, whether designed for beginners, experienced players, or somewhere in between.
Airfields connected to the Battle of Britain are especially encouraged, as this period is closest to the current setting of Ground of Aces.
The winner of the community vote receives CHF 250 (we are a Swiss studio) which equals to more than USD 300.
And there’s more: the winning map will also be reviewed by the Ground of Aces dev team for possible inclusion as an official map.
If selected for the official map roster, the creator receives an additional CHF 250 (~ USD 300).
The winner of our first RAF Airfield Map Jam, Sten_M, saw their creation RAF Duxford become an official Ground of Aces map, as you can with our latest update.
There are also prizes for the 2nd and 3rd place: A Steam Giftcard and Ground of Aces merch.
You don’t necessarily have to start from scratch.
Maps you’ve previously created and shared with the Ground of Aces community can be submitted as long as they meet the contest requirements.
Entries from our previous RAF Airfield Map Jam can also return if they have been meaningfully reworked or improved for Round 2. The 1st, 2nd and 3rd place maps from the previous contest are not eligible for resubmission.
