Infinigama: A New Chapter of an Old Project

Infinigama is the new name of a project with a very long history.

A long time ago, it started as Cell City. Then came Planet Online, Virtles, NSTD, and other versions. They were different visually, technically, and in terms of features, but the core idea stayed similar: a living online world where players walk around as their characters, chat, buy clothes, watch their stats, eat food, work, buy real estate, and order unique custom items.

The first version appeared back in 2006. At that time, it was a simple online game with walking characters and chat. At first, players could only walk around and talk, but professions, money, trading, houses, clothes, and the first player-created stories began to appear very quickly.

Over the years, the project changed many times. It was pixel isometric, then regular isometric, then it moved into 3D. But back then, 3D on mobile devices looked terrible, so the game returned to 2D again.

Sometimes the project closed. Sometimes it came back again – with a new name, a new look, and new ideas. But the desire to create a living online world never disappeared.

Now it is a universe of different worlds, where each world can have its own rules, locations, resources, and gameplay. Some worlds focus more on exploration and adventure, while others focus more on trading, crafting, or competition between players.

The game is currently in closed access. If you want to try Infinigama, you can get a key through our social networks. The links are available on the side of the game’s Steam page.

This is the first post on the Steam page, but it is far from the first step for the project. Behind it are more than 15 years of experiments, mistakes, restarts, and new attempts. Now I want to continue developing this universe together with the players.

Game update2 Sep 2026Smoother RecyclingWe have changed how recycling values are calculated so that prices change more smoothly. Recent activity now has a stronger effect on the price, while older data gradually loses its importance. Previously, a price could change suddenly once outdated statistics were no longer included. Their influence now fades over time. The recycling process itself has also changed. The system now always takes…Community16 Jul 2026Changes over the past yearThis will be our final post about earlier changes that happened before Infinigama received its Steam page. After this, we will finally move on to current news. A year ago, the game had only one server: a planet where players controlled robots and gathered resources. However, the name Infinigama suggests a wide variety of different experiences, so the next major location was a spaceship. There,…Community10 Jul 2026From a Website to a Game ClientIn the previous article, we talked about where the name Infinigama came from. It stayed from the period when the project was trying to become a platform for different games and tasks. At that time, the website had a small game where the player controlled a rover on a planet and collected resources. It was a simple mechanic, but there was something engaging about it. That idea became the basis f…
