Major Update: New Content, QoL Features, & What's Next?

Hey everyone!
We are super excited to bring you a massive new update today. We've been listening to your feedback and have been hard at work refining the learning experience, adding some fun new content, and squashing bugs. We also have some huge news to share about the future of the game.
Here is everything packed into today's patch:
⚔️ New Content (All Languages)
New Mini-Game - "Who Said What?": You'll now find new consoles scattered across the world where you can test your memory and reading comprehension! Assign past dialogue sentences to the characters who originally said them to earn coins, HP, or MP.
Mimics! Watch your step... dangerous monsters are now hiding as treasure chests and "Who Said What?" consoles.
New Boss: Added a brand new late-game boss to test your skills.
✨ Quality of Life & Gameplay Improvements
In-Combat Help: Added a help button that displays new words or expressions during challenges when it’s your turn to form a sentence.
Pronunciation Previews: You can now listen to the pronunciation of most words while playing Order Mode during challenges and attacks.
Easier Battleship: The enemy now has more boats than you need to hit to win! Plus, if you miss three times in a row, the game will reveal the location of an enemy boat to help you get back on track.
Easier Word Search: If you're stuck for a while, you can now press a button to highlight the first letter of one of the remaining words.
Quick Save: Added a quick save button to the top left corner! You can now quick save during dialogues and combat (when you load back in, you will be placed just outside the fight).
x2 Zoom: Added a new zoom button to double the screen size—perfect if you are playing on a smaller screen and want to hunt for hiding gnomes!
HUD Toggle: Added buttons to hide the HUD elements if they are in your way.
Mouse Movement: It is now much easier and smoother to navigate the world by clicking.
Casino Rules: You can now read the rules for the Wheel of Fortune game inside the casino.
Visual Keyboard Toggle: You can now fully deactivate the in-game visual keyboard. This is ideal if your physical device already uses your target language's keyboard layout.
Space Bar Shortcuts: Mapped the space bar to play flashcard audio and to activate the microphone during Speak challenges.
Flashcard Bookmarks: You can now bookmark specific flashcards to easily come back and review them later.
UI Polish: Many other minor user interface improvements across the board!
🐛 Bug Fixes
Fixed several instances where the player could get stuck or experience issues entering/leaving specific areas.
Fixed a bug that allowed the player to move normally during the board game sections.
Fixed a few missing translations, incorrect answers, and bad definitions across various languages.
🚀 What’s Next?
We have three major updates and projects cooking right now:
1. WonderLang on Mobile
The Android version of WonderLang is currently in beta testing, and iOS beta testing will be kicking off in the coming weeks! The mobile game is exactly the same, and your Steam save files are fully compatible. If you're interested in joining the beta or want to upgrade to play on the go, please reach out to us at
2. The Sequel is Cooking!
We are planning to launch a Kickstarter campaign for WonderLang Beyond. This will be the direct sequel and will bring the story to its epic conclusion! WonderLang—a language learning RPG for intermediates—will feature dedicated modes for A2, B1, and B2 level learners.

3. The Grammar Update
We are already hard at work on our next large game update, which will focus entirely on teaching and reviewing grammar rules. This has a dual purpose: it will offer more content to ease beginners into the basics of their target language, while also providing adapted grammar lessons for advanced players right from the start of the game.
New Challenges: A new challenge type will appear that teaches crucial grammar rules adapted to your current level, complete with explanations and practice tests.
Grammar Gremlins: A new enemy type is invading! These gremlins will challenge you with specific grammar questions to help you review rules and bring even more diversity to combat.
4. New Languages Approaching
Arabic has been officially funded and will be added in the coming months! We are also planning to add a Latin American/Mexican variant to the Spanish route in the coming weeks.
