Cats In The Shell · published
Hey everyone, this is Raven Studio.
We're thrilled to announce that the store page for our debut title Cats in the Shell — a roguelike deckbuilding auto battler centered around mech assembly — is now live! The game is currently planned to launch into Early Access in Q4 2026, with support for 10 major languages.
From July 2nd to July 9th, we're running an open Playtest directly on our Steam page. We warmly invite any interested players to jump in, give it a try, and share your feedback with us. And if you like what you see, adding the game to your Wishlist would mean the world to us!
Here is a letter from the developer:
Hey guys!
First off, a massive thank you for downloading the Cats in the shell demo!
If you’re looking for a deep story about our furry pilots... well, we’re gonna have to rain-check that. The final game will have it, but we totally skipped it for this build.
Instead, we dumped every single skill point—and dollar—into mech-building card mechanics and strategic synergy. As a newly formed indie studio, we did something kind of crazy (and incredibly expensive): we decided to make a full-3D autobattler using Unreal Engine. I mean, who doesn't want to collect cute cat-furry pilots while using cards to snap together heavy mechs and watch them clash? But the price we paid was watching our budget evaporate daily alongside the massive art workload.
Since we are a tiny team chasing high-quality 3D, this demo is definitely far from perfect. It's bound to have some jank and balance holes. That’s why I need your big-brain feedback: did you discover any insane, broken mech combinations? Which build is the most satisfying to play?
If this is your kind of jam, please drop us a Wishlist on Steam. Help a fresh indie studio buy a cup of coffee while we crunch through these bugs. Thank you!
Have fun!
