Recently, we have been focusing heavily on hardware repairs, but there is another equally important side of electronics maintenance: software. 💻
Alongside repairing the physical components of a phone 📱, sometimes the software also needs to be fixed. For example, if a phone’s memory module is replaced, new firmware must be installed. To do this, you will need to connect the device to a computer via USB, launch the terminal application, and use command-line instructions to upload the correct software.
Using commands ⌨️, you will also be able to check memory status and wipe user data upon customer request. Additionally, some phones may become infected with viruses. In such cases, you can run an antivirus directly from the console, scanning specific memory addresses to locate and remove malicious software.
The terminal always includes a help command, which displays all available commands along with clear descriptions of their functions, making it easier to navigate the system. However, caution is essential during software installation. Disconnecting the USB cable too early while the firmware is still being uploaded can damage the memory chip, potentially requiring a full replacement and resulting in a loss of progress and resources.
