Today's update brings a new anchor winch, redesigned salvage sites and more improvements to building and gathering. Your existing saves remain compatible.
A proper anchor on a rope
- The anchor winch now has a drum, a crank and a visible anchor that drops overboard on a rope.
- Press your interaction key at the winch to drop the anchor. To retrieve it, look at the winch and hold the key. Releasing it stops the crank.
- The rope passes through a rounded metal guide at the edge of the raft. An anchor you have already dropped stays down after loading.
- Removing your last anchor winch no longer leaves the raft stuck without an anchor.
More to discover and salvage
- Radio buoys have a new float, lattice mast, protected light and open electronics cabinet. Loot sits in accessible trays around the outside.
- Drifting wreck fields now have a tilted sail mast and a damaged hull with exposed ribs. The old rigid cloth panel is gone.
- Additional loose stones can be collected beside rock formations on the seabed.
- A successful manual dredge bucket haul includes at least one stone if you have inventory space.
- The dredge bucket no longer stops in midair when thrown over the raft. If it lands on the planks, it moves with the raft and can be retrieved.
Building, inventory and controls
- Upper floor and roof previews now target the correct height. Supported extensions can be built without an extra foundation directly below them.
- Consumed items reliably disappear from the quickbar, including the bucket used to craft a dredge bucket. Any remaining copies keep their assignment.
- Q opens and closes the workshop. The mouse wheel switches quickbar slots during normal play and still selects floors in build mode.
- Crafting messages show whether the result went into your backpack, raft storage or both. This also applies to food and water.
- Larger supplies appear first in raft storage.
More breathing room between storms
- Storm impacts happen less often. After a storm, you get at least ten minutes of active play before another one; the remaining break is saved.
- Roof and overhead floor protection now uses their actual height. Deck waves no longer knock you over on upper floors, on islands or underwater.
- Repair markers are smaller and sit closer to the damaged piece. They only pulse when damage is severe.
The lighthouse and clearer guidance
- After building the lighthouse, you can keep playing or start a new cycle. Restarting now requires a separate confirmation explaining what carries over and what gets reset.
- An additional save backup is created before restarting. If the backup fails, the cycle is not reset. In co-op, only the host can start a new cycle.
- Fragment 1 has clearer wording. The map legend distinguishes radio buoys from drifting message bottles.
- Material descriptions no longer promise indestructible building pieces. New and revised guidance is available in all 15 game languages.
