Weapon Identity

Swords, axes, and maces now feel distinct from each other. Axes hit hardest but block worst, maces block best but hit softest, and swords remain the balanced middle ground. The difference is subtle at any given item level, not drastic.

  • Axes now have the highest Attack but the lowest Defense of the three weapon types.

  • Maces now have the highest Defense but the lowest Attack.

  • Swords remain the middle ground on both.

  • Applies to the Fire, Knight's, Arcane, Stormborn, and Death weapon tiers.

  • Defense values for all weapons was raised significantly.

Mob Awareness and Movement Rebalance

Mobs were noticing players far too late and, once aggroed, most were slow enough to be trivially outrun. Both are fixed:

  • Aggro (detect) range increased across the board, so mobs notice you at a believable distance instead of only when you're nearly standing on them.

  • Chase speed for most hostile mobs now sits closer behind a same-level player's move speed.

  • Slow, heavy mobs (Ents, Golems, Zombies, the Mushroom Boss) got a flat speed boost too, but stay noticeably slower than a player of their level, matching their lumbering theme.

New Affixes

Six new affixes can now roll on gear:

  • Melee weapons can roll "Skull-Cracker", a chance to stun on hit.

  • Ranged weapons can roll "Bloodfletcher", a chance to inflict Bleed on hit.

  • Weapons can roll "Hunter's Mark", bonus damage against boss encounters.

  • Melee and ranged weapons can roll "Leyward", a chance to convert a small amount of damage dealt into mana.

  • Armor can roll "Sentinel", a chance to cast Iron Will on yourself when struck.

  • Armor can roll "Sanctified", a chance to cast Soothing Light on yourself when struck.

New Titles

Added new earnable titles:

A reputation title for every town, awarded the first time you reach Revered standing with that town.

  • "Mayor of <Town>" — held by whoever currently has the single highest reputation with that town on the server. This title changes hands automatically if someone else overtakes you.

  • "The Ascendant" — held by whoever is currently the highest character level on the server.

  • A "Grandmaster" title per skill (Sword, Magic, Shielding, etc.) — held by whoever currently has the highest level in that skill on the server.

The Mayor, Ascendant, and Grandmaster titles are live rankings, not permanent achievements — they transfer to a new leader as standings change.

Premium Privacy & Gifting

You can now hide your gold premium name/chat color from other players if you'd rather keep your premium status to yourself. Look for the toggle on the Account page on the website. You can also gift Premium to another player from the Premium page, using just their character name. No need to know their account name or email.

Tanking Rebalance

High-level tanks were finding that shield blocking stopped working almost entirely against tougher enemies (Ents, Gnolls, Bone Reapers and similar), no matter how much Defense or Shielding skill they'd invested. Blocking is now level-scaled correctly, so it stays meaningful against same-level and even somewhat higher-level enemies instead of falling off a cliff.

Fixed shield block chance dropping to 0% against enemies above a certain level regardless of Defense or Shielding investment.

  • Armor now mitigates physical melee damage more effectively.

  • Being surrounded by multiple attackers still reduces your block chance, but less sharply than before for small packs (2-4 enemies).

  • Reduced melee attack damage by 10% for Sapling/Ancient/Elder Ents, all three Gnoll types (Zealot, Templar, Warlord), and Shadow Vampires/Lords/Elders.

Fixes

  • Selling a full cart at an NPC shop now happens in one transaction instead of one network round trip per item — checkout is much faster and the shop window no longer jumps back to the Introduction tab partway through a large sale.

  • Raised the stat diminishing-returns threshold from 40% to 65% of your combined Strength/Agility/Vitality/Intelligence. Two-stat hybrid builds (e.g. a mage running Intelligence/Vitality) no longer get tapered on either stat unless one of them alone passes 65% of your total.

  • Accounts with an unverified email can now log in and play normally. You'll see a banner on the website reminding you to verify, since an unverified account has no password recovery path until it's confirmed.
