Team Fortress 30th Anniversary Event Begins Tomorrow

On August 24, 1996, a team-deathmatch mod called Team Fortress was released in downloadable form to the Quake modding community. This means that unless you were intimately involved in the LAN party scene of southeastern Australia in the mid-'90s, it's been 30 years since Team Fortress entered your world! If you were, say, the dev team of a self-awarely nostalgic Team Fortress 2 mod, this would be cause to take a few weeks off the next major update's development, and throw together a little celebration. So, as part of TF2 Classified 3.1.0, we cautiously present the Team Fortress 30th Anniversary Event! For the next week, embrace the past in all its beauty and terror with "Classic-Vision", and become uselessly experienced on four deep-cut maps from previous games, left as untouched as possible.Check out our dedicated update page (we do those) to see full details, educate yourself on Team Fortress history, and always remember where you were when you were thirty years too late. The Team Fortress 30th event starts tomorrow, August 24th, and will run until August 31, 2026.
