Demo 0.2.0 Is Here — New Features & Major Improvements

Hi everyone!

Demo 0.2.0 is now available! This update brings new features and a wide range of improvements to make running your fruit store smoother, more enjoyable, and closer to the experience I’m building for the full game.

Important: saves from all 0.1.x versions are incompatible with this update. You’ll need to start a new game. I’m sorry for the disruption, and thank you for your understanding.

What’s new and improved

  • Business calendar, festivals, and events. Keep an eye on upcoming events that affect customer traffic, fruit demand, and market prices, and plan your stock accordingly.

  • More ways to make the store your own. Arrange your produce with two new basket display racks, and customize your storefront sign with colors, images, and your own logo.

  • Smoother everyday interactions. Improved furniture placement and snapping, cash handling, cleaning, and staff behavior. Giving exact change now also earns a small reputation bonus.

  • Reworked tutorials and help. Clearer guidance, an expanded help library, and the option to skip the tutorial. New shop settings also let you toggle shoplifters and dirt generation once unlocked.

  • Clearer interfaces and more display options. Improved FruitOS navigation, UI scaling, window size settings, and text layouts across supported languages.

  • Major performance improvements. Extensive rendering and runtime optimizations, alongside fixes throughout existing systems, help busy days in the store run more smoothly.

  • More time to enjoy your store. After your first fruit-cutting service, you now have five full business days instead of three before the demo concludes.

What’s next

This is the demo’s final planned content update. Development will now focus on finishing the full game, with future demo updates limited to critical bug fixes.

Thank you to everyone who has played and shared feedback—it has helped shape this update. If you encounter any issues or have suggestions, please let me know on Discord or in the Steam Community.

If you’ve enjoyed running your fruit store, please consider adding the full game to your wishlist. I look forward to seeing you there!
