Welcome to the second of a series of interviews with Crossbridge Game Studios, the developers of Moomin: Midsummer Madness!
This time round we will be asking why the team chose the book "Moominsummer Madness" as the setting for the game.

Vol.2: Why was Moominsummer Madness chosen to base the game on?
I personally love swimming as much as the Moomin family do, and I really wanted to make a game where water played a big part in the setting. Swimming can sort of make you feel like you are flying through the sky and everything just looks much more mysterious and beautiful underwater. That's what I think, and I am sure that Moomintroll would agree with me if you asked him!
The elements that I particularly loved in the original book were the sunken house and the way the theatre washes up to the Moomins, as well as the night of the midsummer celebration itself. These distinctive and memorable scenes really take you out of the familiar, day-to-day world and transform it into a bizarre, unknown and magical place.✨
Moominsummer Madness holds a special place among all of Tove Jansson's books in the Moomin series.
It has become much more than just a book for children, but at the same time it is not an overly serious story either. It is easy for children to warm to and provides thrills and excitement for adults too, a tale that can bring laughter to anyone.
I feel it was the perfect choice for both long-time Moomin fans and for people who are taking their first steps into the wonderful world of the Moomins.
