Howdy folks, we have some big demo updates to share based on all your nifty feedback:

👋 We’ve removed the Nearby tab entirely and replaced it with a simpler system:

  • Hold Spacebar to see a larger thumbnail and name of the nearest object, along with its interaction options.

  • Use A/D or Left/Right Arrow to scroll through other nearby objects.

  • Mouse-only players can hover over objects to see their thumbnail and name, then right-click for interaction options. Arrow buttons let you browse nearby objects.

  • Joystick/d-pad players can hold A (or main interaction button) and use joystick to scroll through nearby objects.

This keeps the inventory/backpack cleaner and makes interacting with nearby objects much faster and clearer.

🪓 We also tweaked the inventory/backpack space, adding tool slots (and shortcuts) to the side for items you use frequently. This frees up a couple of inventory spaces and allows you to equip a particular item like the steel axe over the hatchet.

🏹 It also allows you to quickly go into aim mode for your bow with the number 1 button on keyboard and RT on gamepad.

đź‘» You can now place your crafted structure more precisely. Use the "ghost outline" when crafting and arrow keys to move it into the perfect place.

🔥 The fire pit, spit, tripod has been combined into one, so that you don't need a separate fire to cook a soup or roast.

Plus there's a bunch of minor bug fixes to boot. Thanks a bunch for playing and providing all the helpful feedback.

Catch ya in the wild,

Wombats
