This will be a long post, but those who read it all the way to the end will be hooked—there's a bonus comic!

Cards can be exchanged for BETTER ONES.

A huge number of players have complained that duplicate copies of wrinkled, dirty, and other cards can only be sold, while finding a rare, high-quality card is very hard. Oh, if only there were some way to upgrade them…

This is a great idea, and so from now on you can exchange three duplicate cards of the same quality for one more whole card - even a foil one!

In fact, this has been possible since the game's release, but because we didn't have time to create a tutorial, 99.9% of players weren't even aware of this feature. We've not only added a tutorial to explain it to new and returning players, but we've also added an indicator for cards in your collection that are ready to be traded—they're now highlighted with a yellow border and an arrow icon!

Cards available for exchange have a green level-up button next to them. Click it to exchange three cards for a higher-quality one!

Bugs, bugs, bugs...

In addition, we fixed a hundred minor issues:

  • Fixed a bug with the best card display on the board in the garage

  • Increased the resolution of illustrations for some cards

  • Fixed glitches in the tooltip above the table

  • The cosplay window no longer freezes when exiting the menu

  • Multiple localization fixes

  • Cereal boxes no longer disappears when purchasing, exiting, or entering the store

  • Restored the missing bubble in the scene where you find your first cosplay

  • Mota's icon color fixes

  • The counter for achievements for collected bags of trash and drunk cans of beer is now calculated from save to save.

  • Fixed (again!) the chance of a cosplay suitcase dropping

Kotalion farming fix

Players have found an interesting way to legally, without cheating or rigging saves, get infinite money at the end of a game once they've collected all their cards. The algorithm was simple: 1. Find Kotalion. 2. Sell it for a ton of money. 3. Kotalion drops again. 4. Repeat.

Now Kotalion will stay with you forever, as it can no longer be sold!

Steam Cards

Good news, kittens! Steam-chan is so impressed with the successful release of Kotamon that she's given us permission to add Community Items. We've drawn everything and submitted it for approval, and once it's approved, you'll be able to farm cards while you're searching for them. Well, once it's approved, we'll write more about that!

If no new critical bugs are discovered, we plan to focus on preparing a major content expansion for the Kotamon, selecting the coolest fan-made cards to add to the game (there are some absolutely amazing ones, we're totally blown away by you, drawing folks!), and implementing all sorts of cool new features we've come up with while watching streams and picking up on your feedback!

Bonus

This is purely a developer's pain, but we want to share it with you. Steam is an incredibly cool gaming platform, the best of all. Everything is convenient, fast, and easy to understand... if you're a gamer. But the glitchy build loader is so annoying, throwing an error at the very end of the download 99 times out of 100!

Fans can find an alternative version of the comic with a slightly different Build shape on Patreon or Boosty!
