The wait is almost over.Starsand Island Version 1.0 officially launches tomorrow, August 18 at 5:00 AM PDT!We're only ONE DAY AWAY from finally welcoming everyone to the full version of Starsand Island. We're honestly getting a little excited to see everyone back on the island.If you're in a different region, check out our Global Launch Times chart below to find out exactly when you can start playing in your local time zone.And for our final community-exclusive reveal before launch, we’ve saved something many of you have been waiting for:
So, how do you unlock multiplayer, and what can you actually do together?Multiplayer uses an island host system. The island host can choose who can join their island:
Anyone Can Join
Request to Join
Password Required
Choose the access mode that works best for you and your friends.For Nintendo Switch 2 players: Please set your island’s access mode to Password Required in order to invite friends to your island.Once you’re together, you can farm, fish, explore, work on your profession quests, and complete requests together.However, some quests depend on the island they are being completed on, so guest players may need to return to their own island to finish certain tasks.And one important thing to keep in mind:Your island progress is not shared in multiplayer.Everyone still has their own island to take care of, so don’t forget to head home and keep building your own little paradise.We’re also aware that cross-platform multiplayer is not currently supported. We’re looking into the possibilities and will do our best to work toward this in the future. If there are any concrete updates, we’ll be sure to share them with you.
Have a well-stocked island? You can help your friends out.In multiplayer, island hosts can allow friends to access certain resources and use them for quests. This means new players don’t necessarily have to start from scratch when gathering materials.Hosts can also freely customize permissions for different aspects of the island, including:
Crops
Livestock
Fishing
Crafting
Other island resources
You decide what your friends can access and what you want to keep for yourself. These permissions can also be changed at any time.
Farming, fishing, exploring, and spending time together are already fun, but you can also earn something while doing it.Activities such as farming, fishing, exploring, and taking photos together can earn Multiplayer Coins.Save them up and head to the Multiplayer Shop to exchange them for a variety of useful and lovely items.And don't forget to take photos along the way.A field of wheat under the sunset.The pier on a quiet morning.A swing in your backyard.Sometimes, the best memories are the little moments you never planned for.The scenery changes, the light moves on, but every photo you take becomes a little part of your story on Starsand Island.And with that, our Version 1.0 countdown reveals come to an end.But our journey together doesn't end here.After launch, we’ll continue listening to your feedback, fixing issues, and improving the game.
