Grand Cru: The Wine Maker — v1.0.1 Hotfix

Bonjour, winemakers!

Two of you reported the same thing within a day of launch, and you were both right. Blending was broken in a way that quietly blocked the heart of the 1.0 story. Here is the fix.

Bug Fixes

  • Blending forced the entire primary lot — A blend always poured in every bottle of the primary wine and only trimmed the partner. That meant a 60:40 blend needed a partner lot two thirds the size of your primary one. If you had grown a lot of Merlot, Merlot-led 60:40 became mathematically impossible, and Father's recipe (Pomerol Merlot 60, Cabernet Sauvignon 40) could not be recreated at all. Blending now uses only the bottles the ratio actually calls for.
  • Leftover wine stays in your cellar — Bottles the blend does not use remain in the cask, aging as before, ready to bottle on their own. The blend panel now shows exactly how many bottles go in and how many stay behind.
  • Silent blend failures — When a blend was refused, nothing happened at all and you were dropped back to single bottling with no explanation. Every refusal now tells you why: not enough action points, mismatched vintages, a lot that cannot be used, or a partner lot too small for the ratio.
  • Crash when opening Real Estate — Some saves crashed the game outright when entering the Real Estate screen. Fixed.
  • Saves that refused to load — A damaged section in an older save could make loading fail without any message. Those saves now load and repair themselves.

Technical

  • Save compatible. Existing saves load as they are, and any cellar you already have works with the corrected blending immediately.

If you were stuck on Father's wine, load your save and try the blend again. It should work now.

Thank you for reporting these so quickly. Keep the bug reports coming.
