World

  • Besiege a settlement and its lord now rides to relieve it. If his force can match yours he attacks on arrival; if not, he holds off and sallies out with the garrison once they can win together. When they reach you, stand and fight or abandon the siege. Beat the relief force and the town falls
  • Rob too many caravans, or sack towns, and a war party is sent to hunt you down. Haul a fat stack of loot and a raider band comes for your baggage. When one catches you, stand and fight, run, or pay it off
  • Fleeing a battle now costs you, and how much depends on the chase. Outrun the enemy and you slip away light; get caught slow and laden and you can lose provisions, baggage, coin, and men. A summary shows exactly what was lost

Battle

  • Give a mixed group of units a move order and they now advance together at the slowest unit's speed, so your line stays formed instead of the fast units racing ahead. Attack-move still lets each unit move at its own pace

Skills

  • Perks now cost more skill points the deeper they sit in a branch. The first ranks stay cheap, while capstones and the higher Muster (warband size) ranks cost several points, so you commit to a build instead of unlocking the whole tree
  • Each skill shows its point cost in the tree, and a perk you can't yet afford is greyed out until you have the points

Sieges

  • Select several ladder carriers and hover a wall, and they now spread out to raise a row of ladders side by side instead of piling onto one spot. The preview shows where each ladder will land before you commit

Warband

  • Open a unit's upgrade tree straight from the Warband screen. The branch icon next to a unit's name shows where it upgraded from and every path it can take forward, with the equipment each step needs

Tutorial

  • The opening tutorial now teaches control groups: save a squad with Ctrl and a number, then recall it any time by pressing that number
  • A Skip button in the sergeant's panel (hold to confirm) lets you jump past the tutorial straight to the finish

Fixes

  • Time no longer passes while a story dialog is open.
  • The Menu button no longer runs off the right edge of the top bar at higher UI scales

Sword & Banner PlaytesGame update28 Aug 2026Demo 0.3.4 - Patch NotesNew · The economy is rebuilt. Every settlement grows food, works its industries, eats, builds and trades in one simulation. Prices track real scarcity and shortages pull caravans. · Every town has a speciality: farming, fishing, forestry, mining, smithing, stonecutting, horses, weaving, brewing, or a guild seat that works every craft. It shows on the map label, the town screen and the tooltip,…Sword & Banner PlaytesGame update21 Aug 2026Demo 0.3.3 - Patch NotesNew · Your soldiers have faces. Every named soldier now carries a small pixel portrait, shown next to his name in the warband's unit list, on the camp-life event cards he stars in, beside the deadliest-warrior line on the saga pages, and in the pick-a-man lists for couriers and vassals. A veteran raised to vassal keeps his face as a lord, on the hall of the fief he holds. A face is rolled once…Sword & Banner PlaytesGame update14 Aug 2026Demo 0.3.2 - Patch notesBalance · Lord loyalty is an economy now. Summoning a lord spends a little goodwill and each stretch under your banner wears him down; shared victories pay for the campaign, and sworn vassals rest back toward readiness at home. Sacking or burning a lord's own fief angers him personally, past what his court records. Summon-and-dismiss cycling no longer farms loyalty up; it just burns it · Horse…
