Updated to UE5.8; this is a progress and testing update—far from the final style.
🏁 Tracks and environments
Three biomes: desert, island, and snow, each with its own terrain, materials, and atmosphere.
Seven playable tracks, including the new island and snow circuits.
Intersections and overpasses: layouts that cross over themselves, featuring bridges you can drive both over and under.
Alternative routes: forks that branch off the main track and rejoin it.
Barriers and guardrails along the entire course that dent and break upon impact.
🏆 Campaign and cups
Cups organized by biome, each with its own race order.
Campaign progress board with a direct link to the next cup upon completion.
Player profiles to save your progress.
Podium and results screens rebuilt from scratch.
🤖 Rivals
Reworked AI. Rivals take racing lines, brake, and overtake by actually reading the track, not following a fixed rail.
They yield at intersections instead of crashing into each other.
They choose their own paths at forks.
They play by the same rules as you: traction control (which the player lacks) has been removed for them.
They auto-recover if they get stuck or end up facing the wrong way.
🚙 Driving and vehicles
Weight distribution, inertia, and tires recalibrated across the entire fleet; every car feels distinct yet consistent.
Reworked chassis collisions: impacts register at the point of contact, and the bodywork dents.
Visible suspension: wishbones, steering knuckles, brake calipers, and drive shafts move with the wheels.
Vehicle liveries, swappable from the lobby.
Fine-tuned in-air stabilization for long jumps.
💨 World and effects
Persistent tire tracks and drift marks imprinted on the terrain, matching the color of the surface being driven on. Surface-specific dust effects that form, grow, and disperse based on the terrain.
Material-specific impacts: collisions with metal, rock, or barriers look and sound distinct.
Engine audio rebuilt using a multiband system.
⚡ Performance
Nearly 25% better frame times on Steam Deck (improving from 24.5ms to 18.9ms at the 95th percentile).
Dedicated Steam Deck profile with shadows, textures, and scaling optimized for the device.
Selectable upscaling options (FSR, etc.) and dynamic resolution that respects your set FPS limit.
🖥️ Interface
Completely new HUD: positions, laps, countdown, tachometer, and wrong-way warning.
Reorganized video and options menus.
Map-based lobby for selecting car, color, and livery before heading out.
