Thank you to everyone continuing to play the BLOODSTATE demo and share feedback. This update improves weapons, inventory management, zombie combat, loot crates, menus, environmental interactions and the opening sequence.
Added side aiming to compatible weapons.
Improved side-aim positioning across individual weapons, including assault rifles and the MP5.
Fixed the camera incorrectly zooming out while side aiming.
Improved camera transitions between standard aiming and side aiming.
Added and corrected the Aimpoint sight on the G3.
Improved compatibility between standard and manually operated weapon animations.
Improved bolt-action weapon animations and fixed weapons rechambering twice.
Fixed weapon recoil animations stopping while the fire button was held.
Improved trigger response and the synchronization between trigger-finger movement, firing and recoil.
Improved rapid single-fire input.
Added a trigger-release sound.
Weapon inspection now displays the remaining ammunition and flashlight battery level.
Flashlight information now follows the currently equipped weapon.
Improved swapping for pistols and primary weapons.
When weapon slots and storage are full, the held weapon can now be exchanged for a weapon found in the world.
Interaction prompts now correctly display Pick Up or Swap.
Fixed weapons disappearing or failing to appear after inventory changes.
Fixed the player occasionally becoming stuck with empty hands.
Improved weapon handling when rapidly picking up, swapping or moving items.
Added additional protection against duplicated, lost or unusable weapons.
Stash interactions remain unchanged.
Added weapon rarity levels and weighted rarity-based spawn chances.
Common weapons appear more frequently, while stronger and higher-rarity weapons are progressively harder to find.
Adjusted loot chances to provide a better opportunity to find useful upgrades during unsuccessful or repeated runs.
Loot-crate lighting now changes colour according to the rarity of the weapon inside.
Fixed the MAUL being unable to enter the apartment building.
Reduced the attack range of larger infected so their attacks better match their animations.
Fixed the MAUL becoming stuck after killing the player.
Fixed zombies repeatedly cancelling attacks while the player was within range.
Zombies now finish their attack animations properly.
Improved transitions between chasing and attacking.
Zombies now select random attacks without repeating the same animation twice in a row.
Improved attack recovery when the player moves away or dies.
Fixed an issue that could cause zombies to stop moving or responding near the beginning of the level.
Adjusted enemy footstep volume to prevent it from becoming excessively loud or distracting.
Added a green particle effect to mutated infected.
Added unique blood effects for mutated infected.
Improved collision around the trailer to prevent players from reaching unintended areas.
Improved collision around the apartment floors.
Added collision beneath the stairs to prevent players from entering an unintended area.
Improved collision inside the kitchen area.
Added a functional car-alarm event.
Removed the trailer from the current opening sequence.
Added a photosensitivity and mature-content warning.
Changed the sound effect used for the first logo.
Improved the transitions and order of the opening images.
Added options to continue automatically or skip the opening.
Fixed multiple opening images appearing simultaneously.
Replaced the outdated main-menu settings screen with the newer gameplay version.
The main menu and gameplay now share the same settings interface.
Added a Field of View slider.
Added separate horizontal and vertical mouse-sensitivity controls.
Added Master Volume and Menu Music volume controls.
Added settings for fog, bloom, Depth of Field and film grain.
Added settings for shadows, ambient occlusion and texture quality.
Improved display-mode and resolution controls.
Improved navigation between settings categories.
Gameplay settings continue to open through the pause menu.
The selected menu theme now carries over to gameplay settings and other interface elements.
Improved visual consistency between the main menu and gameplay.
Warning and danger colours remain distinct for readability.
Added new sounds for weapon-trigger movement.
Updated the opening logo sound.
Improved synchronization between sound effects and their related actions.
Missing optional sounds no longer prevent features from working.
Improved resistance to rapid clicking and repeated interaction input.
Fixed respawn-menu inputs accidentally activating or closing other interface elements.
Improved recovery from interrupted weapon actions.
Reduced the chance of inventory and weapon states becoming stuck.
Improved menu reliability when moving between settings, the main menu and gameplay.
Optional opening content can now be disabled without causing errors.
