Hey,
1.0.6 is live. The big one is saves.
Some of you hit an error when loading an older save. It read "Could not load the game. Perhaps the script changed in an incompatible way." and dumped you to a traceback. That was on us. Ren'Py tracks every line of the script by an internal name, and when we rebuilt the script for an earlier patch those names got regenerated instead of carried over. Your save was still pointing at the old ones, so the game could not find where you were.
We put the old names back. Saves from before 1.0.4 load again. You should not have to do anything, just update and hit Load.
If you already started over because of this, sorry. That one stings.
Also in this patch:
• Window size options in Settings. You can now run the game at 960x540, 1280x720 or 1920x1080 in a window instead of only toggling fullscreen. If the art looked soft stretched across a large monitor, a windowed size will look sharper.
• A music pass across the whole script. Nine scenes were running on whatever track happened to still be playing from the scene before, including one that runs about 450 lines. Those have their own cues now. The epilogue no longer plays its heavy track over the quiet opening, so the turn lands where it should instead of being telegraphed. One track that was sitting in the music gallery without ever playing in the game finally has scenes of its own.
No story content changed. Your endings, CGs and achievements are untouched.
Thanks to everyone who reported the save error instead of quietly refunding. We test on saves made with the build we are testing, which is exactly why this one got past us.
