Full Release is here!!! Before we get into the meat of what has changed I want to say thank you all so much for supporting us through the last 7 years of early access for those of you who have been here, for new friends welcome and strap in for what I hope is another great 7 years. So let us get into it. What has changed..
About 3 years ago I decided that Rekindling needed a makeover. We hired an artist for what was supposed to be a quick adventure and turned into a total art rework. 3 years later and literally thousands of art assess later we are done with giving everything a fresh new look!
On top of all that we have redone all of the menus and UI to be a bit more user friendly and easier to use doing things across the board like hiding menus that aren't used and integrating the features they had into other parts of the game.
We took our current multiplayer from early access and threw it in the dumpster. It was way to hard to figure out how to use it. We rebuilt it this time using Steam connections so you can easily connect with friends! We plan on having some fun community events around multiplayer in the future so stay tuned ;)
We have added a multitude of new buildings to the game. Lets talk about a few of them!
Rain Collector:
This lets you gather some water passively from the sky! This helps when you have a large base so one of your survivors isn't just stuck on well duty all day every day
Treadmill:
Your survivors can now workout on their fancy new treadmill! This is another way to keep them fit and happy
Serving Table:
You can now store food that you want to be eaten first by your survivors!
Throughout the game we have improved so much, from the tutorial being totally redone to be an interactive tutorial to survivors getting a bit smarter about attacking someone when they are on top of a Zim.
You will find little goodies throughout the playthrough that give Rekindling the extra layer of polish that we wanted out of a 1.0 release such as random fireflies showing up at night!
Some other little things include being able to auto harvest per farm zone and making auto repair per building.
OH we buffed bruisers... they are a lot bigger and spookier now. GOOD LUCK!
With the size of this update we were not able to preserve saves from early access into 1.0 release as such if you want to play on those old saves from EA you still can! (or if you just miss the old graphics) Go to properties on steam and switch to the earlyaccess version of the game. This is the first time we have 'broken' saves since our early access launch and we don't plan to do it again so your 1.0 saves will work with all future updates!
As always thank you guys again so much for supporting us through the past 7 years. We put a lot of love, blood sweat and tears into this game and I really hope you enjoy it as much as we do. Please let us know what you think about the 1.0 update and what you would like to see next from us.
