Rottenroots Demo · published
Last weekend, we hit an incredible milestone: Rottenroots just passed 10,000 wishlists. And another great piece of news: we are also part of Games Made in Germany on Steam this week! It's full of other awesome games made in Germany You can find the festival here:

So, yeah, guys... All of this really means a lot to us. We are a team of four. This is our first game, we build it in our free time, with zero financial backing, alongside everything else going on in our lives. 10,000 people saving this thing is something we still cannot quite process. A huge chunk of that came from a single Instagram post that ended up at 1.7 million views and gave us a push none of us saw coming.
To celebrate our joy, we want to share something with you in the form of a mid-sized Epsiode 1 update! The main game in coming together nicely, which allowed us to make the following changes:
The beginning has been polished from top to bottom and reads a lot smoother now
New lore added in several places
Dialogue tightened, pacing sharpened
Typos fixed (yes, there were more of them we still hadn't caught)
Groundwork laid for lore drops coming in later chapters
The opening should simply be a better and more fun read than before. And if you pay close attention, something might move through the shadows that was not there before...!
All in all, this is just a mid-size update, because our energy is going into the full game (yes, we're also working on a design for Albrecht still). A release date should not be too far off now. Stay tuned!
Thank you to everyone who played Episode 1, streamed it, recommended it, or just saved it for later. One promise from us: the wait will be worth it, and this game is going to get under your skin.
If you havent already, why not join our new discord for some sneak peeks, feedback or to just hang out! We'd love to see you around: https://discord.gg/kgS3SYAa5
Thank you all so much, we hope you continue to have fun wth our game!
