Accidental Launch 🚨: We Released the Full Game Instead of the Demo

Hey everyone,

So... we had to call a bit of an emergency meeting today.

As you can tell by our title, we messed up. We wanted to release our demo as we were gearing up towards Steam Next Fest but released the actual, full game by mistake.

Someone clicked the very shiny, very wrong, button.

So this announcement is to be completely transparent with everybody that is following or has already purchased the full game.

What is happening right now?

We are currently working closely with Valve support to revert the store page back to its proper "Coming Soon" status. This is to ensure our game gets to through the entire launch, fanfare and marketing it deserves.

What if you already have the game?

No need to worry! You paid for it, and it is yours to keep. You WILL still have the game in your Steam Library, even when the store page reverts to a "Coming Soon" state. You will become our rare gems! You will get access to our development updates and you can see our week to week updates!

if you already have the game and are creating content / streams of Last Draft, please continue to do so!

(Drop videos in the discussion page as the team watches all of them!)

We just kindly ask that you let your viewers know that you are the rare few playing the game as you managed to snag Last Draft on the accidental release!

Phew; it's been a hectic day over at the studio as we reached out to everybody for help and had our marketing team scream at us. Game development is always an adventure and this was certain a plot twist.

Thank you for the incredible support and bearing with us while we work with Valve's support team. When Last Draft does release for real, maybe then the team and I can look back and have a good laugh.

Cheers,

EJ & the Metropolice Team

Update 25th May 2026

The Valve support team has helped in us reverting the status of Last Draft.

As mentioned, if you already own the game, it will remain yours and it will be yours to keep,

Meanwhile the rest will see the game as "Coming Soon".
