TLDR:

  • Narcissist Tail reached over 1000 wishlists! Woah.

  • Pomfy most likely needs an extra month to work on NT.

  • Map Creature Thing (Goopy) has proper tuning of difficulty and difficulty modes.

  • Made Secret Boss easier to understand what to do.

  • Next update will have Fishing Mini-Game for October Steam Next Fest.

  • Next update is for preparation for October Steam Next Fest.

Hi to anyone reading this. I'm posting a demo update, even though I think I said the last update was the very last update for the demo. The reason why is because the demo still needs a bit of polishing!

NT (Narcissist Tail) was in a steam community event called Anthro Festival; I was able to enter at the very last minute and am very appreciative to get in. As a result, we reached over 1000 wishlists (almost 1100!!) which is insane to me, because like. I have no clue what I'm doing. So surely that must be an impressive feat for a solo dev and artist and writer and etc etc. Except for music, Bungex composes everything under my guidance and holy %%$% is the music amazing. I wish I could share it now, but that would be omega spoilers. No really, the music is going to make NT feel like a better game than it is. But because the music is so good, I feel like I need to actually create extra scenes and moments that really sell the emotional parts of the story. So that means I am PROBABLY going to take an extra month to work more on NT.Anyways, I'm posting this demo update because I had to adjust some difficulty curves for that one fight with the map and the creature. That little guy now has proper difficulty modes adjusted and fine tuned. I watched several people give up on my game because it was too hard and I think that is definitely negligence on the dev, which is me. No I will not be nerfing things to the ground or adjust my game design or philosophy based on players who need help or players who are insanely good. But I should be more considerate to pacing and atmosphere for all skill levels. I am meticulous about this and it's the reason why you will see constant demo updates. Sorry! So Anthro Festival was a great success for NT. Thank you everyone for wishlisting. There will be one final demo update later, but it's mostly because I think I need to create a fun proof of concept in the demo that will really "reel" people in for the October Steam Next Fest. I am creating a fishing mini game that I genuinely think is pretty original and silly. Will take a while to really get it working well though. All of this is leading towards the full game in the grand scheme of NT. In actuality, I am already working on all the rooms for Matthew, it's just purposely avoided in the demo because the demo is actually pretty fat for what it is. I've been maintaining around like 40-50 hour work weeks? I'm going to try to consistently do 60. I know that sounds crazy, but this game is my heart and soul. So I'm not doing this out of work obligations, I'm doing it because if I don't then I will literally explode.

Thank you for reading this far, and for playing my demo. I think Narcissist Tail will be an amazing game. But word is cheap, so I have to work hard.

Major update28 Jul 2026Official 3.0 Demo UpdateHello to anybody and everyone reading this . I am confident that to say that the demo is officially really finally done. There will be no more updates for the demo after this (unless something soft-locks players). Everything I want to showcase is in here worth around 2 hours of gameplay. The demo holds about 20% of the full game, so this is quite an overkill. However, behind the scenes, it was…Major update13 Jun 2026Demo 1.5 Mega UpdateNarcissist Tail 1.5 Demo Update So technically, the large chunk of this update was done about three weeks ago, but I wasn't confident to call it the 1.5 update because I knew there were going to be a lot of bugs. And I was right. Oh my god there were so many bugs. Thankfully I have a very disgustingly awesome community that play-tested plenty for me to find issues. I am sure this 1.5 Demo Updat…In-game event23 Apr 2026Demo 1.25Hi to anyone reading this. The last update post was 1.14 and I am talking about 1.25 now, so a lot of things have changed since then. The gist is that I fixed a lot of bugs revolving around Esc Menu and Starting Screen Menu. Esc Menu would be buggy in battle scenes. I added a Gore Censor that works as intended. The save system was also buggy because it had ONE incorrect line of referencing the…
