A clearer beginning

This update smooths your first hour and lets the world speak more plainly — the first of several updates shaping a young god's earliest moments.

  • A clearer way in. A single button now leads straight into your first age, and each scenario names its first duty — what the world asks of you — before you step in.

  • The world guides you. Gentle hints speak at the right moments, the tutorial waits for you however you arrive, and a paused world shows you how to set the years in motion.

  • Honest causes. When a people falls to heat or flood, the chronicle now names the true cause — the Burning Age and the Drowning no longer misremember how their dead were lost.

  • Worship answered, a first rain remembered. A devoted people return a measure of the power you spend on them, and a new remembrance marks the first time your hand turns a thirsting land green.

  • A word on Early Access. A short, honest note now greets you on first launch — what the world is today, and where it is going.

A well or a granary used to accumulate quietly until, one year, it simply existed. Now every work has a raising. When that day comes the…VonkelveldGame update31 Aug 2026The FoundingThis update ships early, and honestly: a save made while zoomed all the way in could fail to load in v0.44 — silently, so it looked like the Continue button did nothing. That is fixed, and it could not wait for the rest of the week's work. A save made up close loads again. If you saved while walking among your people and Continue seemed to ignore you, it was not your save — it was us. Loading n…VonkelveldGame update29 Aug 2026The World LivesThe longest gap between updates ends with the biggest change this world has had: it founds, it burns, and it endures the way it was always meant to. Towns return, for the whole saga. The world used to stop making places after its first century and a half — on The Long Winter the map emptied toward three lonely settlements and stayed there. New towns now rise across the entire age: about ten sta…
