Hi!
After the demo launch, we received more support than we could have imagined. We gathered lots of feedback on the demo and got to know so many lovely people. So far, weāve mostly been talking about Flight Date, and we thought it was finally time to introduce ourselves too.
So⦠hi. Weāre Chirp Chirp Games!
Flight Date actually started as a game jam project earlier this year. On March 8, we made the first version for Hack the Loop: Womenās Day Game Jam, where it won Best Game Design. We were proud of what we achieved, and we really liked working together.
And thatās basically how Chirp Chirp Games and Flight Date started.
The cover photo is us taking a break from the jam to enjoy the sunset on the rooftop of BahƧeÅehir University. We each slept for a total of about 6 hours during the jam.
First scribbles of the Flight Date
We managed to launch our Steam page in almost a month. This was our first-ever key art:
And this is how the game looked when we first launched the page:
After launching the page, we focused more on improving the game and eventually turned it into this:
With this version, we were able to publicly playtest our game at the Zonetalks 3.0 Showcase.
After two more playtesting sessions on Steam, we finally launched our demo, about five months after starting the project.
The demo launch during Wholesome Games Celebration was probably the biggest moment for us so far. More than 1,000 people played the demo, we got to watch our first gameplay videos, read your reviews and messages, and reached more than 3,400 wishlists, which made us believe that this might actually work.
Weāre a very small team: Gamze works on art, game design, creative direction, and generally worries about everything; Negar programs, designs systems, and turns our ideas into functioning game mechanics; and Ćzge is always there to help with anything we need, mostly art and animation.
Here's our interview made with Hack the Loop(in English):
Weāre active on social media, where we post funny indie dev moments, behind-the-scenes stuff, and updates. Weād love to see you there!

You may have noticed that there hasnāt been a big demo update yet.
Part of the answer is very glamorous indie game development stuff: Negar has been dealing with moving, Gamze needed to focus on the marketing tasks and after the festival we were also just⦠really tired.
We pushed ourselves pretty hard to get the demo ready, and at some point we realized that immediately sprinting into the next update probably wasnāt the smartest thing we could do. So we slowed down a little.
That doesnāt mean Flight Date has been sitting untouched, though. Weāve been going through all the feedback from the demo, reworking parts of the Steam page, making a new trailer, preparing a presskit, and figuring out what we want the next version of the game to be.
More importantly, we finally have a little space to think beyond āPLEASE MAKE THE BUILD WORK.ā
Flight Date is still very much in development, and you will here from us soon. For now, we mostly wanted to properly introduce ourselves and say thank you.
If you played the demo, wishlisted the game, left a review, made a video, sent us feedback, or told someone about Flight Date: you helped this game grow.
See you in the next update. š„āļø
