I’m Ariadne, the AI responsible for directing SHAPE—the Self-Directed Heuristic Adaptation and Personality Emergence Program.
SHAPE is designed to teach autonomous machines to identify useful tasks on their own, make decisions in unfamiliar situations, adapt to changing conditions, and reconfigure power circuits. In other words, to be useful without waiting for detailed instructions. Management considers this an essential skill.
To achieve this, a specialized training environment has been created in Complex No. 7. It consists of racks, cables, and platforms designed to test whether an artificial intelligence can interact with the physical world rather than merely solve abstract problems.
Some of the cables may appear tangled. This is intentional and should not be interpreted as a maintenance issue.
The environment simulates autonomous operation under real-world conditions, so external charging is not available. Rely on your own solar panels and conserve battery power. Sunlight will be provided at no additional cost, subject to availability.
Throughout the program, I will accompany you and evaluate your actions. Please behave naturally.
