Prison Legacy · published

When we announced the return of Prison Legacy, we said our goal wasn't simply to bring back a game. We wanted to build an MMORPG capable of growing for years to come.
Today we're taking an important step in that direction.
We're thrilled to announce that Soft Line is joining Prison Legacy as our technology partner.
For us, this isn't just about adding a company to the project. It means having the backing of a team with decades of experience in software development and technology platforms, helping us build a solid foundation for the game's future.
Building an MMORPG built to last
Prison Legacy is being rebuilt from the ground up while preserving the essence of La Prisión, using completely modern technology.
Confirmed improvements include:
Custom graphics engine based on Vulkan
64-bit client and server architecture
Native Windows and Linux support
Visual overhaul of environments, characters, lighting and animations
Steam achievements
Simultaneous release in Spanish and English
Soft Line's involvement allows us to keep moving forward with a technology foundation built to support the project's growth for years to come.
"Prison Legacy represents the union of history and innovation. After almost four decades developing technology solutions for businesses, being part of this project is an exciting challenge and an opportunity to bring all our experience in software engineering, scalability and technological evolution. We share the same vision: building a solid project, designed to grow for many years alongside its community."

Thank you for being part of this
Since opening our Steam page, we've received incredible support.
Every wishlist, every comment and every message on Discord reminds us that this project still sparks the same excitement it did more than two decades ago.
There's still work ahead, and we remain focused on preparing for the planned October 2026 launch, but we wanted to share this next step with you.
Thank you for being part of Prison Legacy.
The best is yet to come.
