Dear brave pit climbers,
We have updated the Pit Panic demo.
This update focuses on making the demo smoother, clearer, and more fun to replay, with improvements based on player feedback around readability, difficulty balance, UI, and small gameplay details.
Demo Update Changelog
Gameplay
- World events, such as infestations, now include character quips.
- Being pushed out from beneath blocks while standing on the ground now deals damage. Being pushed out while in the air does not, except when using the driller.
- Charger and crusher traps can now both be activated using items.
- The item dispenser tile now lets you collect an item directly into the hook.
- Pullout spike tiles can now be triggered using an item.
- The cursed heart item now reduces your health pool to 1 and removes the wall jump ability.
- The Buried Grounds biome has been made easier. Enemies were removed from selected levels, difficulty tags were adjusted, level entries and exits were made easier, with 132 level tweaks in total.
UI
- The result screen now shows how far you got during your run, as well as your best climbed floors in campaign.
- Chambers discovered total info has been added to the result screen.
- The main menu is now animated and has been reworked to feature a vertical list of items. Discord and wishlist buttons are now part of this vertical menu.
- All UI screens now feature slightly angled navigable items.
- Added option descriptions for all items in the Visual tab.
Whether you are trying Pit Panic for the first time or returning to the pit after your previous run, now is a great time to jump back in.
The full game launches on July 21, 2026. Until then, the demo is here for everyone brave enough to climb deeper, panic harder, and make one or two terrible decisions along the way.
