Greetings Terrarians!
Another month in the books! It has been a hectic one indeed, between work on 1.4.5.7, doing some interviews for the Design Works book, getting ready for some upcoming events in the fall, and more. We are very ready to get what we hope will be the last (or darn close to it) hotfix update for Bigger and Boulder into your hands and then to get rolling on what comes next. Crossplay and beyond, the future is going to be a fun one. Before then, we are getting ever closer to wrapping up what has to be the largest "hotfix" type update in Terraria's history. We do think the time taken will be well worth it, as we are trying to tackle a number of outstanding topics at once. Of course, we will see what you make of it and cannot wait to hear that feedback.
All that said, let's see what lies in wait for this months State of the Game...

The balance train continues unabated yet again this month. We have spent a lot of time this go-round looking into entire classes of weapons - making sure things feel fun, relevant, and worthwhile. All of this has taken place alongside some backend/system work that should improve the overall experience.
The rollout plan for Crossplay (post 1.4.5.7) is in place as well. Beyond that, we are setting up some important planning sessions with our friends at DR Studios so that we can lay out the internal roadmap for what comes next. If all goes to plan, what we come up with there should flow seamlessly into development work right after Crossplay. As for what the plan might entail? Well, you will have to wait and see there.
As for this month's spoiler... a little while back, our good friend Chippy pointed out that yo-yo's might have been left behind a touch through the years.
We've seen this feedback before and have decided to go ahead and finally take action on it. We're looking into making some yo-yo's more interesting / unique. it.

Cascade's got a little sizzle now to go with that steak...
Keep your thoughts and feedback rolling in, it is always helpful for us to take into account. Hopefully, we will have 1.4.5.7 wrapped up soon!

Hello everyone!
On July 1st the regular monthly update release of tModLoader for 1.4.4 will go live. It contains various bug fixes and some small features.
As mentioned previously, the tModLoader team has been spending most of our efforts working on updating tModLoader to the Terraria 1.4.5 update. We are continuing to see a huge amount of community participation and contributions for the 1.4.5 update and are extremely grateful for those willing to help with this process through code contributions, bug reporting, testing, and participating in the discussions that take place on Discord. The tModLoader team will continue to work with experienced modders to progress towards the tModLoader 1.4.5 update.
This process as well as any other big changes desired by the modding community for this update will take many months still. There are still many tasks to be done, if you are interested in contributing code for the 1.4.5 update, the 1.4.5 Update Information page has information on how to contribute and what tasks remain to be done. That page also explains how to join the "1.4.5-dev" beta branch on Steam to test out the current state of the update. Users can join that beta branch to help identify and report remaining bugs.
Modders and users should also keep an eye out for our monthly Steam announcement on the 1st where a complete listing of bug fixes and API changes for this month's release will be listed. The in-game news button on the main menu will direct you directly to the announcement once it is live.
We look forward to seeing how mods make use of these new features. As always, if you are having issues of any sort, definitely don't hesitate to check out our FAQ on github or reach out to us at our Discord.

Hello Terrarians!
Alongside work on 1.4.5.7 (again, we are aiming for as close to a sync release as we possibly can), we have been engaged in some backend work around how various localizations interact within the UI boxes. We are trying to find a better solution to avoid those pesky text overruns that can happen from time to time. We are also doing all that we can on Crossplay to have that ready to go as quickly as possible once 1.4.5.7 is out to all of you. Trying to tighten down these timelines as much as we can!
That said, you probably came here for a spoiler, right?

Using ice against enemies in the ice biome? That's just cold!

Until next time, Console & Mobile friends - thanks for all of your love and support!
