Development on Neo Capitalist is moving at full speed! Today, I’m excited to share a series of updates that make the early and mid-game much more dynamic, designed specifically to break those "too comfortable" moments and keep you on your toes.
Refreshed Visual Identity: I’ve updated the Steam capsule assets and the main game logo. The new look better reflects Neo Capitalist’s brutal atmosphere with a sharper, more defined aesthetic.
Mission-Based Tutorial: Getting started is now much smoother. I’ve overhauled the tutorial system into a mission-based flow, allowing you to learn the mechanics while staying immersed in the game’s narrative right from the first click.
Hidden Financial Attacks: Success comes with a price! Once you cross a certain wealth threshold, the system may target you. These random cyber-attacks trigger instantly, forcing you into a high-stakes hacking mini-game. Defend your assets, or risk losing a significant portion of your hard-earned cash.
Illegal Opportunities & Offshore Missions: Need to boost your cash flow in the early-to-mid game? I’ve added "illegal opportunities." These high-level, mysterious missions from an unknown person offer massive payouts, but they require you to move money through offshore shell companies without triggering the trace meter.
Risk & Consequence: Market manipulation is now more dangerous than ever. Failing a manipulation attempt won't just cost you money—you now face the risk of official investigations and heavy legal fines. Every move you make has a potential consequence!
Bug Fixes & Polish: I’ve squashed numerous bugs and implemented several system-wide optimizations to ensure the smoothest trading experience possible.
I’m continuously fine-tuning the game balance and difficulty curve. Demo version for Next-fest is almost complete.
