Back in February, we had our first public showing of the GameShop Simulator demo during Steam Next Fest. During that time, we received a ton of feedback about the game, all of which carried one central theme: the concept was fun, and the game showed a lot of promise, but it needed more time to cook.
So, we got back in the kitchen, and we've been cooking.
As a completely independent studio operating entirely on our own terms, we don't have deadlines or budgets to worry about. That's given the team the opportunity to do everything needed to make our game the absolute best it can be, including:
An entirely new shopping center, with new stores, new environments, and a completely revamped game shop
A complete rewrite of many game systems, including enhanced NPC behavior, better multiplayer connectivity, a revamped flow for stocking shelves and checking out customers, and hundreds of other improvements
Brand-new features like hiring and managing NPC employees, a fully overhauled progression tree, a proper tutorial, and a cleaner end-of-day experience
With so much done to build the game into something truly special and unique, we felt it was only right to give it a new name that better encapsulates the feel of running an early '00s game shop. So, without further ado, we're pleased to announce that Midnight Launch: A GameShop Sim will be coming to Steam very soon!
We're so excited to show off what we've been working on since February, and will have more to share on what we've done - and when you can play it - very soon. Join our Discord to get the latest news as soon as it drops, and don't forget to wishlist on Steam!
