Wine stays in the cask until someone brings a bucket, alloys move out of the smelter into a crucible, and the panels stop cramming three facts into one line. Seven playtest findings ride along: the selected tool shows its name, the tunnel popup lines up, a stockpile or zone paint waits for OK, the sowing window groups crops by kind, the card title sits over its body, and a picker opens above the panel that called it.
New
- A stockpile, zone or farm drag opens a popup before anything stands in the world. Set the kind, the material and the containers for a pile, the kind for a zone, or the crop for a plot. OK places it. Cancel or Esc drops it.
- The workshop panel says where a bench takes its stock from and where its work goes. Tick piles under Input and Output. A link is a preference, not a lock.
- A cask of wine holds wine. Brewing fills the barrel with portions. A dwarf carries a bucket, jug or pot to the cask to draw one. A fort with no vessel goes thirsty beside a full barrel.
- A pile says how many bags, barrels and crates it stands. Three steppers on the pile panel replace the one "pack into containers" switch.
- Smelting, alloying and coking are three trades. The smelter wins metal from ore. The new crucible mixes bar with bar. The wood furnace chars coke.
- The kitchen cooks three tiers of meal, by ingredient count. Any larder food goes in. The rich tier spends oil and salt.
- The tunnel order has seven priority chips (7 works first), a note on every option, and number boxes sized to their digits.
- The build palette is smaller, with three-quarter thumbnails. A short window no longer squeezes the tab row out from under the pointer.
- What a standing pile takes, what a zone is for and what a plot sows are set from the panel that opens when you click it. The Tab kind-chooser is gone. The crop window shows the whole catalogue.
- The designate tools name themselves on hover. The turn key has its own line. What the next click places floats over the bar. Air shows at the top of the screen only while it drains.
Changed
- No more run-on lines in the interface. The top bar is fourteen fixed cells that never shift. The units roster has separate columns for mood, stress and their sum. Panels that grow add rows instead of squeezing text.
- Sprint runs at one and a half times walking pace, down from three. Swimmers leave no foam. The workshop panel has a close button. The credits are reordered.
- "Refuse dump" is now "waste yard". A pile is named for its material.
Fixed
- The selected tool's name over the bar drew nothing.
- Workshops with a stand sat half a cell off the slot they mark.
- A recipe that asked for two of one class spent one item for both. The kitchen cooked two meals from one joint of meat.
- Tunnel popup notes ran out under the scrollbar.
- The inspect card title sits over its body, and a rock cell reads "Natural rock, granite."
- The embark survey's hover wrote the stone line over the altitude line.
Old saves load. The new fills and ceilings ride save tails.
