This is a chunky update. If you were last playing on 0.77, you have a fair bit waiting for you. Here is the lot.
Night 5: Fighting Fire with Fire
A whole new night, and it does not play nice.
- The Bombardier: a new tower that lobs firebombs in an arc, with its own artwork, a live 3D model, and proper firing and impact effects.
- The Pyro Gnome: the night's boss breathes fire, and it will set your defences alight if you let it get close.
- The Wall Gate: upgrade a wall into a gate you can open and close, to let your own workers through and shut it on the gnomes.
Full controller support
You can now play on a pad, Steam Deck included. The cursor clicks the HUD, the build and action wheels own the sticks, every menu and the codex are pad-navigable, and the on-screen glyphs match your controller. Even Report a Bug works on the pad.
More depth
- Endless scaling with a reworked adaptive difficulty that paces its climb and remembers it in your save, so a long run stays fair.
- A redesigned Codex, with every wiki page now matching the shipped game.
- Tower nicknames, so your towers get their own daft names (say hello to "The Beefeater").
Quality of life and fixes
- Enemies no longer get stuck at maze chokepoints, so your maze does what you built it to do.
- Overwrite-saves and a richer end-of-night summary.
- FOB cleanup jobs now group into one orderable queue entry.
- Towers ease into their poses instead of snapping, a couple of load crashes sorted, and a good stack of smaller fixes besides.
Fair play for sticking with it. If something breaks, give me a shout on the Discord.
