We're excited to share a brand-new Whispers of the Crypt Development Showcase!
This isn't the official launch trailer—it's a look at the progress we've made so far, featuring gameplay, environments, enemies, combat, and many of the systems currently in development.
Alongside today's showcase, we wanted to give everyone an update on the work happening behind the scenes. Since our last update, we've been focused on improving stability, polishing gameplay, and expanding content in preparation for our next public playtest, which is planned for later this year. While we don't have an exact date to announce yet, here's a look at what's already been completed.
Fixed quests not displaying correctly.
Fixed multiple looting issues involving skeletons, gold coins, and webbed satchel.
Fixed an issue where looting multiple skeletons could cause the HUD to become stuck.
Fixed campfires so they now properly restore all player stats.
Fixed Admire not rewarding gold after quest completion.
Fixed the interaction prompt when collecting Admire's son's necklace.
Fixed loading screen issues.
Fixed startup video issues.
Added Poison Damage over Time to the Mother Spider boss.
Added bleeding effects to spiders.
Fixed Skeleton hit detection.
Fixed Mother Spider attack hit detection.
Fixed Mother Spider projectiles shooting through the map.
Improved Skeleton, Spider, Demon, and Charger targeting behavior.
Fixed Chargers so they now charge, attack, and recover correctly.
Fixed an issue where Chargers could eliminate players in a single hit.
Added new visual effects to the Charger stun state.
Fixed Skeleton collision.
Fixed Healing Potion collision.
Fixed players incorrectly blocking spider attacks.
Added Archer Skeletons.
Added additional Skeleton AI states.
Added new Skeleton animations.
Fixed Skeleton AI issues.
Fixed Skeleton ragdoll issues.
Fixed Skeletons launching into the air while dodging.
Added snapshot posing to prevent T-posing after enemy deaths.
Improved Skeleton audio range.
Added Skeleton healing audio.
Added Spider attack audio.
Fixed Charger audio.
Added a Dragon to Hellbone Crypt.
Added Maces.
Added the Earth Spell.
Added a brand-new Skill System.
Added subtitles throughout the playable storyline.
Added subtitle settings.
Updated the Settings menu and HUD in preparation for expanded controller support.
Added footstep audio for Amie.
Fixed DLSS 4 issues.
Fixed Brightness screen issues.
Fixed the Bound Soul energy bug.
Fixed players being able to crouch, jump, dodge, cast spells, draw weapons, or attack while menus are open.
Fixed the Bone Breaker achievement.
Fixed the Whisper of the Bound achievement.
This is only a portion of what we've been working on, and we'll continue sharing progress as development moves forward.
