The PvE adventure across Gensokyo is growing even larger.
This update introduces the new Between the Clouds and Heaven theme and Iku boss battle, along with the Phantom Afterimage encounter, Spirit Relics, Talisman Cards, and more. Dungeon routes and combat flow have also been expanded, while several issues affecting attack direction and dungeon generation have been fixed.
After clearing a room, you can now choose from two or three portals leading to different destinations.
The room layout and the flow of your run will change depending on the portal you select. Combat rooms and overall dungeon size have also been expanded. In smaller rooms, enemies will appear in several waves with fewer units active at once instead of rushing the party all at the same time.
Room shapes, corridors, branches, and exit directions are now more varied, making each expedition feel different.

Combat areas have been reworked so you can move freely in both directions with the mouse wheel.
Dungeon generation rules have been strengthened to prevent gaps around the outer boundary and stop gate walls from blocking other passages. Connections between every room and exit are now checked more strictly, and enemy spawn collision checks have been improved to prevent enemies from appearing inside walls or decorations.
The chance for a reward chest to become a Mimic has been reduced from 50% to 35%.
A new theme filled with clouds and lightning, Between the Clouds and Heaven, has been added.
Explore new terrain and combat rooms surrounded by clouds and lightning. Cloud fairies, carp, golems, and other enemies suited to the theme await inside.

Nagae Iku appears as the boss of the Between the Clouds and Heaven theme. Defeat Nagae Iku to unlock her as a playable character.
Iku attacks with a range of lightning-based techniques and uses increasingly dangerous patterns as her health falls. Her attack timing and danmaku patterns have been refined, while the targeting and warning effects for her powerful lightning strikes are now easier to read.
The name of each boss technique is displayed on screen when it is used.

Entering an Unknown room may trigger a duel against afterimages that look just like you. If you are exploring with other players, an afterimage of each party member will appear.
Defeat every afterimage within 90 seconds to restore health and resources and receive an upgrade or Relic reward.
If time runs out or the entire party is defeated, each player loses health equal to 20% of their maximum health. This cannot defeat the player outright, and the expedition can continue, but no reward is granted.
Afterimage aiming, movement, and attack chains have also been improved so they can correctly face and attack players after moving or dodging.
Ran Yakumo can be found waiting at the center of the Secret Gap. Approach her and reach into the gap to begin the trial.

Survive the trial to obtain a Spirit Relic. These Relics add a powerful new ability to an existing Relic effect, but demand a price by weakening one attribute such as movement speed, health, or attack speed.
Status effects such as Frostbite and Freeze, along with Relic effects such as Gust and Flame Burst, now use more distinct visual effects so they are easier to tell apart.
Talisman Cards found during a dungeon can be equipped and combined to create new cards. They can also be earned as boss rewards.

Hover over a Talisman Card symbol on the character selection or inventory screen to view its name and effect. Talisman Card slot layouts and replacement instructions have also been improved.
For example, the Flame glyph increases attack power by 8%. Hover over the glyph to view this effect at a glance.

Before beginning an expedition, you can select Easy, Normal, or Hard difficulty. After Hard, the Incident 1, Incident 2, and subsequent tiers continue indefinitely. Enemies become stronger at higher tiers, but the rewards also improve.
On Incident difficulty, entering a new region presents three cards, each pairing a constraint with a buff. The chosen constraint remains active for the rest of the expedition, but it also grants a powerful benefit in return.

Swimwear costumes for Flandre, Remilia, Youmu, and Reisen can now be purchased from the shop with points.

Tsukasa may very rarely appear in normal combat rooms.
She quickly closes in to attack and steals a portion of your Gold. On rare occasions, she may even steal one of your Relics. After a successful theft, she releases a smoke screen and escapes alongside her clones.

Fixed an issue where augment projectiles such as Silver Knife, Frost Needle, and Kill Spell could fire at an incorrect angle. They now follow the direction and target of the original attack.
The additional projectiles from Reimu's Ofuda Bundle, extra hitboxes created by basic-attack augments, and Ice Trails now follow the original attack direction. Linear Relic effects triggered when a projectile hits also follow the projectile's travel direction instead of the direction the character is currently facing.
Fixed an issue where wall-destruction effects could destroy the protected walls around the dungeon boundary or its gates, causing the intended route to collapse.
With this update, I tried to make the new systems and dungeons feel more like a roguelike. There is still plenty of room for improvement, but I hope you enjoy it. The new semester has started and I am busy, but I will do my best to keep the updates coming. If you encounter a bug, please feel free to report it on Discord at any time.
