Build a hand → unleash a move → power up after battle → keep moving
Playing 《幽牍夜话》 for the first time and not sure which cards to keep or replace?
Don't worry! This beginner's guide will help you understand the core gameplay in no time. ✨
It's simple—reduce the enemy's health to 0 before you run out of card plays!
In a standard battle, you usually have:
🎴 3 card swaps ⚔️ 5 card plays
If the enemy is still standing when you run out of actions... you'll have to start the battle over.
Once you draw your cards, don't rush to swap them at random!
Look for any of the following:
a pair / two pairs
three of a kind
consecutive values → a straight
the same suit → a flush
If your hand is already starting to take shape, keep the key cards first!
Select unwanted cards and click “Swap Cards”。
💡 Here's the important part:
Swapping one card or several cards costs only 1 swap opportunity!
So don't be afraid to swap—but don't do it blindly, either.
When you already have a foundation such as a pair or three of a kind, just deal with the unrelated cards,Don't break apart a hand that's already working just to chase a bigger combination!
Click “Attack with Cards” before playing, check:
⚔️ Which move will trigger? 💥 How much damage is it expected to deal?
Selecting more cards does not necessarily mean dealing more damage.
Often, reliably playing a completed move is more valuable than forcing a “big hand”!
Prioritize upgrading thecombinations you play most often!
Don't upgrade every move evenly. Focus your resources on one or two main moves first to build effective combat power faster.
Make your deck more “consistent”:
focus on a range of values
focus on a suit
remove cards that don't fit
The more focused your deck is, the more often the combinations you want will appear.
Prioritizeeffects that trigger reliablythen tune your deck around them.
Don't focus only on the theoretical maximum damage:an effect that triggers often is what really matters!
The heart of 《幽牍夜话》 isn't playing the biggest combination every round. It's aboutslowly building your own style around your hand, moves, artifacts, and route.
May every wandering cultivator taking their first steps into the ancient scrolls avoid a few wrong turns—and then unleash a signature move of your very own! 👻✨
