Built from the start in Unreal Engine 5, Stronghold 4 marks the studio’s first major engine shift in decades. With these new tools, the possibilities to explore and enhance the castle sim experience has expanded tremendously, including the likes of new units, rolling realistic landscapes, refined destruction technology and cinematic narrative aids.
One distinct benefit of having a quarter century of studio development history is the ability to look back on the titles of the past, identifying components that did or didn’t work and incorporating that knowledge into Stronghold 4 in ways that meaningfully enrich the new game for players.
But how are we going to achieve this? Well sit down, grab a tankard and let our developers run you through how we're upgrading and updating the design, art and narrative to make this the best Stronghold title to date.
