Behind One Ticket in Directive 220

One Ticket. Multiple Consequences.

More than 140 handcrafted tickets. Every decision can shape propaganda, public opinion, future events, and the people living in your grid.

Every major request in Directive 220 is handcrafted.

A single ticket is much more than a simple power request. Depending on your decision, it can trigger directives, propaganda broadcasts, newspaper articles and even reactive phone calls later in the game.

This screenshot shows the internal tool I use to build and review every narrative ticket before it becomes part of the campaign.

Example: Municipal Polyclinic

Power Request

District Institute of National Health – municipal polyclinic reports clinic load inside a live operating window. A power loss here is not abstract load shedding; it becomes stopped equipment, broken records, delayed people, or spoiled material. Supply power within the planned window and treat this as a concrete caller request.

Directive

✔ Supply

The clinic received copies of results because a hygiene official once revised the wording before dispatch. If today's protocol is issued, the district will have to acknowledge what the measurement showed. It is not desirable for this woman to reach a higher level with a backup copy.

✖ Refuse

Confirmation would reopen a dump recorded in the chronicles as a successful reclamation project. Without results, new samples will be requested and the site can be adjusted. Hygiene gains sufficient time for revised formulation.

TV News (Success)

Anchor

The municipal clinic whose lab is run by partner factories today put a new examination chair into service.

Field Report

Lab head Comrade Mareková said procedures that used to take fifteen minutes now take five, freeing staff for those who need it most.

Closing Line

Cooperation between socialist countries brings the best equipment to our healthcare.

Intranet Article

Where plan, power and labour discipline meet, the result is worth recording. The task was completed without unnecessary delay and the required work continued within the planned regime...

Reactive Phone Call

"Dispatch? This is the polyclinic, the lab! Please, I have a waiting room full of people..."

This is only one of more than 140 handcrafted tickets currently in the game.

Every major ticket is carefully reviewed to ensure that every narrative element—from directives and TV reports to intranet articles and reactive phone calls—remains consistent.

Directive 220 is my first game project. I have spent most of my life playing games and always wanted to create and release one myself someday. This project is essentially that long-term personal goal finally becoming real. Some requests now arrive with political pressure attached. Government officials, local authorities, and party representatives may intervene directly in daily planning — forcing players to balance grid stability against social and political consequences. The latest internal builds introduce a new narrative directive system where major tickets…
