September 5th marks the fifth anniversary of Deathly Stillness’ free release on Steam. Honestly, I’ve kept delivering free updates for five years all because of your ongoing support, which has given me plenty of motivation and inspiration. Every single one of you has been part of this game’s growth over these five years~
Today I’ve got new patch content for you, let’s take a look~
1、Added manual save system for Misty Map. Here are its details broken down into six points:
Part 1: The manual save system only works on Misty Map. Press ESC during gameplay to pause, where you can select Save Game and Load Game.
Part 2: You need to name each save file so you can quickly tell apart multiple saves for the same mission.
Part 3: The left panel in the load menu shows all your saved files. The right panel displays detailed info for the selected save. You may load or delete saves here.
Part 4: Saves store your selected character model, weapon attachments, backpack inventory, remaining ammo, current mission progress, playtime, plus in‑game date and time.
Part 5: When your character dies on Misty Map, an auto‑save will be created named Keep Pushing. Manual and auto‑saves are clearly distinguished in the load list.
Part 6: Saves cannot be loaded directly from the main menu. Enter Story Mode first, then choose Load Game to access your save files.
That covers all features of the manual save system. Please report any bugs in the comments. Thanks for playing!
2、Added hotkey to quickly toggle between aim‑down‑sights and hip‑fire. Scroll mouse wheel up for ADS, scroll down for hip‑fire. Your setting is saved locally and will persist the next time you launch the game.
3、Added shortcut to close the backpack UI: right‑click empty space within the backpack window. Some players found reaching for ESC inconvenient, so I added this feature with a small on‑screen hint.
4、Added configurable sprint mode: toggle between hold‑to‑sprint and tap‑to‑sprint. This option was added for players who dislike holding Shift to run continuously.
Revised material for the default female character skin, adding dirt and bloodstain effects.
Pressing ESC will now instantly close the enlarged minimap.
Drone control view will force‑close upon taking damage from zombies.
Increased zombie count on the highway level to 30.
Updated outline color for mission‑critical items such as fuses; they now feature a yellow highlight inside the backpack.
Fixed an issue during QTE sequences where zombies would sometimes casually walk away and act like nothing happened, haha.
That’s everything for this update. The new build will be uploaded to Steam within 2‑3 days for you to download and play. Feel free to leave bug reports and suggestions in the comments. Bye!
If you feel like it, feel free to support me! Your backing fuels my drive to keep pushing out new game updates. Much appreciated!
