Today we announced our new game, Mayhem À La Carte.
We know that for many of you, this immediately raises an important question:
What does this mean for Crime Boss?
After more than three years of updates and development, Crime Boss: Rockay City is entering a different stage of its life. Our main development focus will gradually move toward new projects, including Mayhem, but we are not walking away from Crime Boss or its community.
Over the past years, we've added new missions, systems, game modes, weapons, characters, and many other improvements. Most recently, the June update brought Story Mode, along with some less serious experiments such as low-gravity gameplay in Rockay Rumble.
We've also released the Modkit, opening Crime Boss to your own creations. We've already seen hundreds of mods appear, which gives the game another way to keep growing without us constantly changing its foundations.
For this reason, we don't currently plan to add major new modes, systems, or mechanics. Instead, we want to keep the game stable for players and provide a solid foundation for modders.
Update 22 is already in development and includes about 50 fixes and improvements, including further optimization work. We currently plan to release it in September, together with a detailed changelog.
We're also taking another step with community-created content.
We want to select some of the best mods and work with their creators to prepare them for release as official Creator's DLC, including bringing selected creations to console players. These will be paid releases, with part of the proceeds going directly to their creators.
The first Creator's DLC is a collection of nine character skins created by long-time Crime Boss fan and modder Matt Helzor. We'll share more details soon.
And what about Mayhem?
Although Mayhem À La Carte looks very different, some of its roots actually come from our work on Crime Boss.
For years we've experimented with randomization and ways to make co-op missions more replayable. In late 2025, we tried an early cooking prototype inside Crime Boss as another experiment in making mission objectives more variable.
It was ridiculous. But it worked.
We had enough fun with the prototype that we eventually decided it deserved to become its own game, built from scratch. In April 2026, the project received the green light and moved into production.
So this is not goodbye to Rockay City.
Crime Boss is entering a more stable phase, while INGAME begins building what comes next.
We'll continue keeping an eye on the game, listening to the community, supporting the modding ecosystem, and addressing issues where we can.
