Patch Notes — v0.1.8 Update
🆕 New Features
- Daily Quests: Harvey, Olf, Kired, Jean, Mel, and Abel each now offer a repeatable daily quest once you've completed their full quest line. Look for the blue "?" above their heads, daily objectives also show up in blue in the Quest tab.
- Hardcore Mode's death screen now ends with a scrolling recap crawl of your run (level, playtime, kills by enemy type, gold, recipes learned, and more) before your save is deleted for good.
- New Graphics Quality, Anti-aliasing, and FPS Limit (60–300) options added to Settings, alongside VSync.
🐛 Bug Fixes
- Fixed the Equip button not working at all for mouse-only players, the inventory's bottom action buttons previously only reacted to gamepad/keyboard navigation.
- Fixed the minimap not showing the village river (it shares a tile layer with fishing zones that wasn't being read).
- Fixed Circle/O on gamepad also opening the pause menu, it now only closes menus as intended; Start or Escape open it.
- Fixed the "+N" upgrade level badge missing from equipped item slots (it only showed up in the inventory bag before).
- Fixed daily quests occasionally being offered before an NPC's full quest line was actually completed.
- Fixed some delivery quests (e.g. Olf, Emma, and the new daily quests) not recognizing materials you already had in your inventory before accepting them.
- Fixed gamepad icons being stuck on PlayStation prompts no matter which controller was connected — Xbox, Nintendo Switch, Steam Deck, and PS5 (DualSense) controllers are now correctly detected.
- Fixed losing keyboard/gamepad focus when navigating left in the save-slot menu.
- Fixed the Hardcore toggle overlapping the slot number and "Empty Slot" text when creating a new save.
🎨 UI/UX Improvements
- Removed the "Resume" button from the pause menu to reduce its overall height.
- The level-up points reminder (top-right HUD) no longer has a background panel (just the icon and count, with a subtle shimmer).
- Enlarged the (Character Sheet) button and (Quests) button icons in the HUD.
- Added an info tooltip explaining what Hardcore Mode does when creating a new save.
- Redesigned the volume sliders into a rounded pill shape.
- Uniformized button sizing and text casing across the pause and main menus.
- Modernized the map's close button (added gamepad focus support) and legend (added NPC/Dungeon entries).
- Added a faint ambient glow to Cinder Hearths.
