Welcome to the 0.32.0 patch notes.

Developer’s Note: With the launch of Season 5, the Legacy skate.Pass is being retired, meaning all Season 5 Standard and Premium track rewards must be earned within the active season. This change is part of how we’re evolving progression in skate., and we want to set clear expectations that Season 5 rewards need to be earned during the active season. To ensure a smooth, rewarding progression experience, we have tuned earn rates and introduced new ways to collect Tix, including Spotlight Challenges and Endless Bounties. While unlocking every single seasonal item requires 76,346 Tix, dedicated players can earn a maximum of 123,543 Tix before the season ends.

We’re excited for the future of skate. and will be sharing more details in the coming months about where we’re going.

Before you dig into the bug fixes and feature updates below, take a look at our Season 5 article to learn more about the new S.U.M.R Camp Mega Park, brands, game modes, and more. You can also read our progression article to see the changes coming in Season 5.

Developer’s Note: We're excited to bring Underflips to skate. Our goal with this new trick was to make it feel satisfying to pull off while also opening up new variations like Hospital Flips and Impossible Underflips. Remember to check Skatepedia to see the Flick-It patterns you'll need to learn for Underflips.

Block Parties

  • Block Parties are now permanently in rotation! Introducing Block Party Subtypes—four variations of the Block Party Ruleset:

    • Standard—the base experience.

    • Pro Comp—a more challenging experience, with locations and objectives that compliment masters of the mode.

    • Mixer—lightweight social challenges with a party vibe.

    • Block Blitz—a short, high-intensity battle that takes place in one location.

    • Each new Block Party will be randomly assigned one of the four subtypes.

  • The top three players in a Block Party are now given a special gold, silver, or bronze visual effect that lasts until new winners are declared. The effect is applied only after the Block Party has ended. You can toggle this effect in the General settings menu under “Show Winner Crown VFX.”

  • UX improvements:

    • Block Party Subtype displayed throughout the UI (Hud, Map, etc).

    • Round point multipliers shown before & after each round.

Player-Placed Spot Battles

You can now create your own Spot Battles via the Throwdowns menu. When setting up a Spot Battle, you can set the number of players, privacy setting, number or rounds, turn timer, starting position, and rotation.

Feature Updates

Gameplay Improvements

  • Updated Manual Nose and Tail Brake animations.

  • Updated Air Footplants to reduce visual sliding.

Throwdowns

  • Spot Battles

    • Players can now see the leaderboard via the menu panel during any point of the match. The leaderboard will also be displayed between rounds.

  • Nearby Invite

    • Whenever a Throwdown is created, nearby players will receive a notification indicating which mode was placed. (Ex: Charles has created a Spot Battle).

Audio

The playlist keeps evolving. To kick off the start of Season 5, we’re bringing 17 new tracks to the airwaves of San Van.

  • 2Hollis - Flash

  • PCs will now use Borderless Fullscreen by default.

Block Parties

The Best Line Score criteria has been removed from Block Parties.

Bug Fixes

General

  • Fixed various stability and performance issues.

  • Fixed an issue where teleporting to a spectated player could cause an infinite loading screen.

  • Fixed an issue where Gap Distance failed to register correctly in Block Parties.

  • Fixed an issue where Block Party rounds would count sequences started before the round.

  • Fixed an issue where Dark Lipslides were not counting towards "Any Slide" objectives.

  • Fixed an issue where Own The Lot could have an All Players objective for only one player.

  • Fixed an issue where launching the game would change display modes, causing a black screen on some PC setups.

  • Fixed an issue where Block Party UI elements would disappear after returning to session marker.

  • Fixed an issue where the Total Airtime with Grabs task was counting sequences with grabs and not airtime.

  • Fixed an issue where you could see through your skater's legs when wearing Ripped Jeans.

  • Fixed an issue where some gesture animations would stop playing in the Co-op celebration screen.

  • Fixed an issue where equipped stickers would obstruct Board Art previews in the Shop and skate.Pass.

Gameplay

  • Fixed an issue where a "Dark Pop Glitch" allowed skaters to launch themselves high into the air by holding and releasing a dark catch while simultaneously opening and closing a D-Pad related menu.

    • Developer’s Note: The Dark Pop Glitch has been incidentally patched as part of ongoing development while fixing a rare crash. However, this was an issue we already intended to address due to the negative impact it could have on competitive game modes.

  • Fixed an issue where doing a spin then Late Body Flip would cause the skater's orientation to snap.

  • Fixed several issues where the skateboard's wheels would get caught on the lip when landing in transition.

  • Fixed cases where the skateboard would get bumped out of grinds, especially when going fast.

  • Fixed an issue where the flip trick after finishing a grind would skip frames.

  • Fixed an issue where Low Nollie Pop-Shuvits would push the skater to the side.

  • Fixed an issue where the skater's feet would sometimes sink into the board after a running mount.

  • Fixed several cases where the skater's feet would clip through the board during a trick.

  • Fixed an issue where ground Footplants would sometimes pop too low.

  • Fixed an issue where Runouts could occur from a Coffin.

  • Fixed an issue where performing a Footplant would cause a One-Foot Grab to be added to future scoring sequences.

  • Fixed an issue where score values for Judo and BS Footplants were swapped.

  • Fixed an issue where high-speed grinds could cause the wrong grind type to be detected.

  • Fixed some visual issues with mounts and dismounts.

  • Fixed an issue where Slappies could fail to engage correctly.

  • Fixed an issue where Stalefish Grabs were incorrectly called Stale Grabs in Skatepedia.

  •  Fixed an issue where Boned Ollies were not counted as Ollies in Total Ollies Near Players challenge.

  • Fixed an issue where players were pulled out of their menus when a Block Party starts at their current location.

  • Fixed an issue where the score obtained before the round started counted towards the Best Sequence Score and Total Trick Score criteria.

  • Fixed an issue where Sketchy tricks counted towards the Total Clean Trick Score criteria.

  • Fixed an issue where Best Gap Distance was tracked incorrectly on the leaderboards.

  • Fixed an issue where Ollies made in a sequence before the round starts counted for Total Ollies Near Skaters.

  • Reverts made during Total Reverts Near Skaters now score individually instead of at the end of the sequence

UI

  • Fixed an issue where the Add EA Friend option would be missing when using the Find Skaters feature.

  • Fixed an issue where the report confirmation screen would always display Inappropriate Name regardless of the selected report reason.

  • Fixed an issue where someone you unblocked could not be re-added as a friend.

  • Fixed an issue where owned items didn’t display a check mark in the Store.

  • Fixed an issue where the comms radial menu would not remember the last selected tab.

  • Fixed an issue where the neighborhood info panel would not correctly display a max-level neighborhood.

  • Fixed an issue where disabling subtitles would hide the Character Icon and Skip Button in Cinematics.

  • Fixed an issue where the Challenge Player Visibility setting would not follow the party leader's setting when in a party.

  • Fixed an issue where the compass would show an incorrect neighborhood level after completing a challenge.

  • Fixed an issue where the Top Skaters leaderboard didn’t accurately reflect your placement.

0.32.0 New Known Issues

  • Rarely the title crashes when you select San Vansterdam at the Ferry Terminal in SUMR Camp.

  • Mini stutters are present while traversing the map on Xbox One.

  • skate.Pass shortcut does not work when opening the Bounties menu from D-Pad.

  • The parental restriction for communication on consoles doesn't affect the in-game setting and functionality.

  • When the field of view is set above 90, LOD causes aggressive texture changes each time the skater switches  from onboard to offboard.

  • Gen 4 console users can get stuck in loading screens when Gen 5 console and PC users frequently use co-op travels.

  • The prompt received after getting kicked states that users don't have access to San Vansterdam instead of the location they've attempted to enter without access.

  • Block Party UI fails to appear when spawning inside an active Block Party.

  • Borderless full screen mode accidentally uses the last resolution set by the Full Screen resolution setting.
