But the next SweetSin update we're working on is about more than continuing the story. We're making the open world an active part of story progression, adding new activities and minigames, and improving several existing systems.
We're not announcing a release date yet. Our goal is to bring as many of the features below as possible together in a single update.
However, development and testing may require some features to take additional time. For that reason, please consider the following as the goals we're actively working toward for the upcoming update rather than a guaranteed final feature list.
One of our biggest goals for the upcoming update is to complete Chapter 1.
We're currently working on the final part of the chapter, and once Chapter 1 is complete, the story of SweetSin will continue with Chapter 2.
We do not plan to release Chapter 2 as a separate game or paid DLC. Our plan is for players who own SweetSin to receive Chapter 2 through future game updates without requiring an additional purchase.
We're working on a major change to how the open world is used in SweetSin.
Rather than being used only for free roaming or moving between locations, the open world is being integrated directly into story progression.
Traveling to different locations, encountering characters, and progressing certain events through the open world will become a more important part of the game.
We're also developing new activities for the open world.
Our goal is to make exploration about more than simply traveling to the next story location, with additional activities available around the campus and surrounding areas.
New minigames are in development.
We want to use them both during story sequences and throughout different moments in the open world to add more variety to the gameplay.
We'll keep the details of these a secret for now.
The phone system is also being expanded.
We're working on new messages, new interactions, and additional content accessible through the phone.
Development and improvements to the quest system are continuing.
We're making visual and usability improvements across various parts of the game's interface.
Our goal is to make existing systems clearer, easier to use, and more consistent with each other.
New music and sound effects are being prepared for upcoming scenes, minigames, and other parts of the game.
Alongside new content, we're continuing to work on the systems behind the game.
Several parts of SweetSin's underlying structure are being reorganized and improved to create a stronger foundation for current systems and future content.
Testing for a Linux version of SweetSin is now underway.
We're currently carrying out compatibility and stability testing. If testing is completed successfully, we aim to make Linux support available to SweetSin players.
Chapter 1's finale, an open world connected directly to the story, new activities, minigames, and system improvements.
That's what we're currently working toward for the next SweetSin update.
We'll have more to show when it's ready.
Thank you for your continued support and feedback.
