GRAPHICS
Relics now light up when they trigger.
The wheel's rim lights are updated be more responsive with the tiles' scoring.
Tons of animations in the room have been updated.
Boss rounds now open with an entrance: every light on the wheel goes out, holds, and stutters back on.
The room's lighting now changes color between normal play, boss rounds and wheel editing.
The screen now blooms with light as a scoring chain keeps going.
Spins no longer brighten the whole screen; that brightness is now saved for the big scoring moments.
New walls, new wall art, and updated lighting and colors all around the room.
Spotlights now sway together with the light they come from.
Disabled flappers now fade to half transparency instead of disappearing.
Retrigger lines on tiles now line up exactly with the light that sweeps across them, and tile cards now show their retrigger lines too.
The camera no longer zooms in during the winning sequence, and getting back into the room is much faster.
Fixed distant objects looking like flat dark cutouts instead of blending into the wall behind them.
Fixed a bug where the camera shook on and off several times a second while the wheel passed over its rusty patch.
Fixed a bug where the brake rattle became permanently harsher after the first time you used the brake.
Fixed a bug where the camera kept shaking if the wheel stopped on its rusty patch.
Fixed the score panel and the speedometer shaking at different speeds depending on your framerate.
Fixed light sweeps lighting the wrong side of the rim.
Fixed a bug where the wheel's rim lights got stuck dark.
Fixed the Rewind Tile's light sweep going the long way around the wheel.
Fixed the room's colors resetting every time you walked up to the wheel during a boss or editing phase.
Fixed Obelisk and Hat models.
GAMEPLAY
Added two new bosses. The Taxman raises the target score with every spin, and The Static keeps every tile blacked out until it is triggered. Relics won't trigger on a tile that was still blacked out when it was hit.
Added a new 3-Size Multiplier Tile that gives +2 Mult.
You can now crouch by holding CTRL.
Added full controller support: a gamepad drives the cursor with aim assist that pulls it onto whatever you are aiming at, every keyboard shortcut has a gamepad equivalent, and the big moments now rumble, building as a scoring chain escalates.
Scoring hits harder now. Crossing the target, the SCORE x MULTIPLIER slam, going bankrupt and taking the stage each land with a short freeze and a camera kick.
Renamed Rule Change to Stage Prize.
Stage prizes no longer come with a downside. No more pricier relics, lost spins, or rounds that pay you nothing.
Stages 2 and 4 now always give +1 Flapper and +1 Relic Slot, one each, in a random order.
Fixed a bug where resuming a run could offer you a stage prize the run had already been given.
The first shop of a run now always has at least one Common relic.
Ghost copies of the relics you own now float above the market. You can now sell the relics you own by clicking the copies.
Iron Flapper, Diamond Flapper and Button now apply the moment you buy them and no longer take up a relic slot. Iron Flapper and Diamond Flapper are sold by clicking the flapper they gave you.
Incremental Tiles now count as Score Tiles.
Fixed Score Tiles with Retrigger being counted as Effect Tiles. Purple Cartridge gives them Score again, Moai Statue can pay out on a spin that hits one, and Globe counts the right tiles.
Profit Tiles now give 2 Coins instead of 1.
Respin Tiles now trigger again on the respins they cause, up to a limit.
Spins now take shorter time, and relics now trigger at the same pace on every retrigger of a tile.
Buying or selling a relic that changes retriggers now updates your tiles right away instead of during the next spin.
Viking Helmet now multiplies Score Tiles by X1.25, growing X0.05 with each trigger for the rest of the round.
Pentagram now turns EVERY tile into 666 Score. Curse Tiles give -666 instead.
Key Chain and Oil Lamp now only affect tiles that already have Retrigger.
Obelisk now sets every tile's Retrigger to 1 instead of 3.
Yin Yang now gives 2 Flappers and takes 2 Spins.
Notebook now gives 1 Coin for every spin you take, but your leftover spins pay nothing.
ATM and Credit Card now only count the coins you have spent since you bought them.
Camera now gives its free Polaroid after your first spin of the round.
Rebalanced relics: Teapot 1000 to 1500 Score, Hat +10 to +20 Score for each unused spin, Purple Cartridge +50 to +75 Score, Energy Drink X0.2 to X0.25 for each spin, Pyramid 5% to 6.66%, Red Cartridge +2 to +1 Mult, Cigarette Box 25% to 20%, Credit Card +10 to +8 Score for each Coin spent, Marakas +4 to +3 Score, and Green Coin +20 to +15 Score for each Coin. Teddybear now keeps three quarters of a Sleeper Tile's score instead of half. Several relic costs and sell values have changed as well.
Polaroids now appear based on their rarity, so common ones show up more often than legendary ones.
Rebalanced Polaroids: +100 Score is now +200 Score, "+50 Score to the next Score Tile permanently" is now +100 Score, and "+100 Score on the next Score Tile" is now "+100 Score to the Wheel permanently". The flapper Polaroid is now 25% instead of 20%, and most Polaroids are cheaper.
The "+1 Retrigger" Polaroid now only applies to tiles that already have Retrigger.
Polaroid multiplier bonuses now only apply to +Mult tiles, not X Mult tiles.
Polaroids can no longer be used or placed while editing the wheel.
Rebalanced tile rarities: the Respin Tile, the X2 Multiplier Tile and the 2-Size Replay Tile are now rarer, and the 1-Size Replay Tile went up two rarities.
Rare tiles now start showing up a little faster as a run goes on, and Legendary tiles a little slower.
The Void boss now asks for more score.
Deer Totem now pays the moment a flapper hits nothing instead of at the end of the spin.
The edit preview now shows exactly where the new tile will land, and the edit now opens on the tile the flapper is actually pointing at.
Fixed a bug where a tile edit destroyed the tile next to the one you were replacing, and a bug where a flapper could edit a tile an earlier edit had already removed, leaving two tiles stacked in the same slots.
Fixed a bug where the first spin of a new stage played out at the previous stage's fastest speed.
Fixed a bug where you could spin while the winning sequence was still playing.
You can no longer walk away from the wheel while the host is talking.
Fixed a bug where flappers fired the wrong tile.
Fixed a bug where the wheel reset to its default layout, or came back broken, after restarting.
Quitting during a boss edit now puts you back into that edit, and a win you earned right before quitting is kept.
The market shelf is now saved with your run.
Fixed the stutter when the market refreshed right after a round win.
Fixed a bug where The Void idled between hitting your tiles and taking them away.
Fixed the Toaster's "+1 RANGE" text showing up when the extra range didn't actually reach a tile.
Crouching is now slower.
UI
Jetons are now renamed to Coins.
Bosses have new names and new lines: The Witch, The Hunter, The Void, The Titan, The Taxman and The Static.
Updated every relic, tile and flapper description.
Flapper effects are now announced over the flapper that fired them.
The Lucky Flapper relic now says AGAIN! when it repeats.
Relics that give multiplier now say "+1 Mult" instead of "+1.0x".
The SPIN button's color, outline, sound and position now match the state of the wheel. It greys out instead of disappearing, and dims to grey instead of near black during a boss intro.
The crosshair now scales down and up when it changes shape, instead of blinking out of existence.
Hovering a flapper now shows what clicking it will sell, and for how much.
The round display now resets when the market appears instead of when the wheel reopens.
Fixed a bug where the tile art on the edit cards drifted out of place over a run and could end up mirrored.
Fixed a bug where the SPIN button became clickable again in the middle of a spin during a boss edit.
Fixed a bug where the SPIN button's outline and cursor stayed on after it stopped being clickable while you hovered it.
Fixed a font rendering issue affecting certain relics.
AUDIO
Relics now have their own trigger sound, played on top of the tile trigger sound.
The ticking during a spin now climbs a musical scale instead of sliding.
You can now hear it when a Rare or better tile slides past a flapper without getting hit.
The heartbeat now turns to normal at the end of a round instead of the beginning of the next round.
Hover sounds now vary in pitch so moving across a shelf doesn't repeat the same sound.
MISC
Volume, ambience, look sensitivity and language are now saved between sessions.
Unlocks, achievements and lifetime stats are now saved when you quit, pause or tab out, so a crash can't take your progress with it.
Reduced the size of several oversized textures.
One more thing. Some of you saw this on Reddit: a player called Bob The Builder spent over 500 hours in our free demo chasing the number one spot on the leaderboard, finally got it, and left us a comment signed "THX love Bob". It made our week, and the post went on to reach millions of people and brought a lot of new contestants to the show.
So there is now a little something in the studio for him. Thank you, Bob.
We're also very happy to say that Please, Spin is taking part in An Event About Incrementals on Steam, running from October 8 to October 22! The demo will be up and spinning for the whole event, so if you have been waiting for a reason to pull the wheel one more time, this is it.
